Truthfully, if you do, the Federal Bureau of Prisons will let you live there free of charge for a reasonable time. No, that is illegal, and pointless. All someone would have to do is put the chassis number into the appropriate system which the manufacturer uses e.g. Kerridge and it would bring up the anomaly, hideously devaluing your car!
