Hi all,

I need to replace to pick up switch in a 1985 ford ltd. I removed the distributer cap? (the thing the plugs are attached to), then I removed the next cap. Now I can see the pickup switch, it's half moon shaped, and there is another thing blocking the way of getting it out. I don't know what it's called but it's round with |_| tab like things on the sides. From looking at the new part it looks like it should just pull off but I cannot get it to do so. Any suggestions? I would also appreciate the names of any of the parts I have described. Thank you.

Turn signal works until brakes are applied or headlights are turned on. All turn signal lights and brake lights have been replaced and fuses have been checked, to no avail.

I had an idea of a motorcycle with a shell that surrounds you.
Basicly it would be the same matireal as the wind shield except when you get on the bike you can slide the top over you so theres no wind or rain blowing on you. As long as you can put your feet down right? I don't see why it can't work

I am a college student in NC. My parents live 9 hrs away, also in the state. My car is registered to my mother for insurance purposes. My inspection sticker has expired. When I realized it expired I went to the Ford place to get it inspected. They told me that because the county my parents live in have different inspection laws (admissions) I cannot get my car inspected here. I don't know what to do, obviously driving nine hours with an expired inspection sticker in the middle of exams is out of the question. Also, my tag expires next month. I tried to get that renewed as well, and was told my mother would have to do it. She said she would, but no tag has arrived yet. Is there anyway to get temporary tags/stickers while I wait? My car is in fairly good shape, and while not driving was possible in october, it is no longer an option if I plan to continue in school. I know there are students who live farther from home than I do, how do they deal with such things?

I'm thinking about putting a 350 chevy into a 1978 datsun 280zx. I don't have any dimentions for the car or the engine and i'm too lazy to find them. I'm hoping there is someone experienced in dotsuns that can help me out.

If i don't warm up my car in the morning and started driving, the car would not accelarate smootly from 1st, to 2nd to 3rd gear. It would just feel like it wants to go but unable to unless i really put the paddle down.

I have a 91 Dodge Stealth, twin turbo w/ intercooler, manual
Sometime the enging just stops right after i turn the ignition on; from 1000 rpm to 200 rpm and stop...

I had water pump replaced, spark plugs and coils less than a year ago. What could be wrong?

I have a 1992 Peugout 106. When the light comes on, if i pump the petrol it goes off.. can't think of an explanation. Don't really want to spend lots of money on repairs if i can help it. Thanks in advance.

After receiving a call from a friend who was at the doctor's office after spraining her anckle and needing a ride home, she called me. I told her I would be there as soon as I could.

An inexperienced driver in snow and ice, I did my best to
scrape ice and snow off of my car which took about an hour, all the while, worrying about her sitting there and waiting for me.

I finally got on my way, worrying all the way and scared of an accident on the ice. I guess my mind wasn't on it enough because I went through a stop sign without stopping. A car pulled out from the stop sign on my right, not stopping either. There was almost an accident but we both stopped in time.

Well I got to the doctor's office, tried to help her to the car, all the while slipping on the ice myself. Just as we got into the car, an off duty police officer walked up to the car. He had followed me and was watching and waiting until we got settled before approaching, not to offer help, but to arrest me.

Do you think that older drivers should have more restrictions placed on their driving?

I'm a teen driver, and I am currently going through my state's GDL program. Right now I have a probationary license, that restricts the hours that I can drive and how many people I can have in the car. I had to go to drivers ed for 2 hours every day for a month, and take 6 behind-the-wheel lessons with an instructor. In my state, all that elderly people have to do is take a vision test and get a new photo, yet they are the second most dangerous group of drivers after teenagers.

Should elderly drivers be subject to more restrictions, or should I just stay away from farmer's markets?

Evertime I drive to work, I see a Prius being driven. Today I saw three of them! A blue, a silver, and a white one. Since when did consumers get interested in this ugly car? From the looks of its size, it doesn't look safe either. And it costs over 22k? What kind of rip off is that.

I have just replaced the thermostat in my vehicle, and it seems to be working... for the amount of time that the thing can hold coolant. I have checked - rechecked - and completely re done the connection around the actual thermostat, and it seems secure. I have used the correct thermostat, and a rubber gasket ( o-ring as advised). Am I doing something wrong? Do I possibly need to use 2 o=rings (there was only one used by the factory when I disconnected the coolant hose from the engine)? Or did my car spring a leak somwhere else. Please help me as I am almost ready to take a sledgehammer to this peice of s$!#. Such a seemingly SIMPLE task is taking me forever. Uuugh

I am confused i have been reading that everybody is supposed to pay a little over invoice of a new car correct?
Well i just bought a new car about 3 months ago and i paid under invoice. How much money did the dealer make the asking price was about 1900 and the invoice was about like 17,950 and i paid 17800.

ok yesterday my uncle left my moms car door open and now it wont start the that mean it wont ever start up again? and this is crazy he also left the windos down about 4or7 times now what i think that my mom should do is get the keys back frome hem but she dose not know what to do and the type of car is its a honda the ones that onely have two seats and she was going to let me drive it when i get my lisiont but i dont want it to end up doing something on me when i am driving that car and he is a gerk to top that off and if you could can you guys give me some adavice please:)

I drive a 1986 F-250 S wheel drive p/u, it has a 6 cyl. gasoline engine and I am having troubles finding out what is wrong with it. It doesn't want to start. At first, because of the cold weather, I thought it needed to be plugged in, but after it was plugged in for # days it still did not want to start. I checked my battery and it still had enough cranking power, but still nothing. If it sits for a bit, I will get the sound of the engine trying to turn over but then, nothing. If I try again, all I hear is my starter trying to engage for a second and then nothing. I am getting really frustrated! Could this be an electrical problem? Or could it be something different? Is there a sure tell sign I could look for to diagnose the problem? I can't afford to have it towed right now and I sure can't afford to repair it at a garage. Any help as long as it is a serious attempt to help solve this would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
