An '85 Bronco II came equipped only with the V6, which uses a timing CHAIN. Only the Ranger came standard with the 2.3L OHC 4-cylinder which uses a belt. I am 100% sure.

If a 4 cylinder then possibly. If a 6 cylinder then absolutely yes. If a 4 cylinder, then either a timing chain or a timing belt.

ppl never realize that several engines were available and installed in a particular model of vehicle

but yes the 2.3L was belt

other engines in the bronco i am unsure

Yes. All ford vehicles of that era use a timing chain.

2.8 Cologne V6 runs gear to gear.

The only optional engine was a 2.9 Cologne V6 which is laid out the same.

Ha ha,,,trick question....the 2.8 "Cologne" engine runs gear to gear type cam timing...no chain or belt. I am correct.

If the engine is 2.9, 3,0 4.0L 5.0L it has a timing chain

if its a 2.3 four cylinder it has a belt,the others have chains

It would be a timing belt and i would need to know the engine size to tell you which one.
