I have a 1994 Cadillac Sedan DeVille with the 4.9 in it. As of the last week or so (the weather has gotten colder, if it matters), when I initially start my Caddy up and proceed to drive, within a minute or so, it starts to studder, almost like its missing. All I have to do to stop the studdering is pull over, turn off the ignition, and immediatly restart the car, and the problem goes away for the remainder of my trip. Any insight as to what this may be? Im baffled as it goes away after immediatly restarting the car. Also, when I first got the car it had the same problem, I replaced the Cat convertor, and the fuel filter and the problem went away completely. What could be causing the reoccurance? Thanks for any help.

I was told that the problem is excessive gas flow, but don't know what that means. The tachometer swings up quickly even in slow, local driving, as if I was flooring it. Does driving it like this damage it or risk it breaking down?

I got into a car accident recently. No injuries thankfully. The car damage will be roughly about $3000 (The appraiser has not yet sent me the estimate). The car is not drivable, so I am taking the bus/metro. I also went to the doctor for a checkup (which cost me my basic co-pay).

The adjuster called me and said they will refund $500 towards my travel/medical expenses. I said fine. Today, I got a letter from them saying I have to fill a "Release of All claims" form.

The form basically mentions that they will pay me $500 and says that I will not hold the insurance company or the insured liable for any more claims. Is this a standard procedure? It does not even talk about the additional expenses (approx $3000) which will be towards car-repair.

Please advise. What should I do? It is a typical auto insrance claim with no injuries. Why are they making me sign such a Release of Claims form? Should the form mention about the car-repair expenses also?

This problem just started this week. The power locks and antenna will not work at all. The interior lights will work if you switch them on, but will not work automatically when you open the door.

My car hesitates at stop lights , around corners and in reverse, when I accerate it has to kick up RPMs way high to switch gear.
Its an automatic. Does it sound like the transmission is going bad.
Its a 2001 sunfire with 130,000 miles on it . I bought it in 2004 , it had 100,000 miles on it. I payed $5,300 when I bought it and put $2,000 into a new engine for it. Engine might have 70,000 miles.
How much would it probably cost to have a new transmission put in and would it be worth spending that much on this car?
