I have all the receipts for all the work done on the vehicle in the last 3 years. When someone comes to look at the car, and we tell them about the car and they buy it, can they come back after a month and claim that" as is" was too general, can they get their money back. Also the smog check is due by the end of the month.
We had it smogged two years ago and it passed. If it is bought do they pay for the smog check or do we.

Recently, I made the decision to buy a new vehicle.

My fiance she said I should to buy a vehicle that was a reliable brand (Honda, Toyota, etc.), with a back seat and an automatic transmission.

Based on these parameters, my choice was a Tacoma Doublecab (4 doors), w/automatic. It isn't much more expensive than a Camry w/V6. The main negative about the truck is the fuel mileage. But, I like the fact that it can be used as a people mover or for cargo, so I feel it's still a practical vehicle.

Unfortunately, she says that she doesn't want to be seen in it, because it doesn't fit her image. But, my point is that since I'm paying for it and I will be the primary driver, shouldn't I have the majority of the say in what I buy?

It started with the lights dimming and the radio flickering, then when you would come to a low idle the car would die and the battery was dead. I had the alternator replaced last Tuesday. It ran fine until Saturday when it started doing the same thing again. I replaced the battery and it ran fine again until Monday. And it started acting the same way and the battery was dead. Yesterday we had the battery charged and I started the car, unhooked the + battery cable and the car died instantly. I took the alternator off to it to Autozone for them to test and it tested fine. I got a battery/alternator tester also. I got home put the alternator back on and tested it. It showed the battery and alternator both working fine. I took it for a 5 minute drive when I returned home and it show the alternator wasn't working properly again. It sat overnight. When I tested it this morning it showed to be working fine again. I took it for another 5 minute drive and it stopped working again. Any thoughts

It's only happening when I break if I'm driving slowly (like in stop and go traffic, or in a drive through, or parking lot). It happens mostly when it's damp outside. The breaks were replaced a number of months ago, so I don't need new ones...why is this happening? It's quite loud and getting embarrassing!

It came on yesterday, car seems to be ok. Oil was a little low so I put more in. Noticed that the oil was pretty dirty so I am gonna get an oil change today. Besides that, any other troubleshooting tips? I don't want to take it to the shop unless I have to. Thanks!

I have a 1996 Ford Taurus with 3.0 engine and auto transmission.
If I take off down the road at a slower than normal pace the transmission shifts normal. If I take off like everyone else and go at a normal pace then the transmission shifts pretty hard between 1st and 2nd gear, the rest of the gear shifts seem pretty normal , maybe just a little harder than normal but pretty normal overall . just had the fluid and filter changed, not flushed, changed. Anyone have an idea of what might cause this? Perhaps a speed sensor or some kind of valve or switch? I realize that I may have to have the tranny rebuilt, just thought someone may know of something that may help.

I'm thinkinng of buying a car. I live in Dublin, however cars tend to be cheaper in Britain, therefore i was gonna buy in Northern Ireland. But will i need to get it NCT'ed immediately in the Republic, whether it has a valid MOT or not?

Cheers, Gav.
