can you tell me where the engine numbers are located on 289,302 windsor engines.?

the vin numbers are/were stamped on flat spot behind the intake manifold on the block...the casting numbers are on the "ears" of the block...by where the starter is... and i think depending on the year it can be on either side... so the starter may be covering it...

Depending on year you may look on the left side or next to the distributor, scrape off the gunk and you should find a small flat spot with he numbers you are looking for.
