I tried scratching those bits off with my fingernail, but it takes the paint off. Any good suggestions? I already went to the car wash a couple of times, and each time some cement comes off but it takes the paint off also.

We are about to be hit with below freezing tempratures and I need to know if it is safe to pour the antifreeze (50/50 mix) straight in or if I need to proceed with the entire flushing and cleaning procedure.

Ok, so I purchased a 2001 Audi TT Quattro last night from a private seller and today after driving it for a few miles the clutch froze up and wouldn't go into any gear. As a side note last week my mechanic looked the car over throughly and this wasn't an issue. I called my mechanic as I was waving cars around me and he told me to turn the car off, place the car in gear and then start it but to be careful because it would take off on me.
It worked just as he said it would and I limped home without being able to stop other wise the car would die. Now I know a fair bit about classic automobiles but I've never had a car this new. Based on what I've read on the net it sounds like the hydraulics on my clutch went out but what does that mean to me? Is the clutch gone? Maybe out of fluid? What are the best/worse case senarios? Can this thing just happen all of a sudden or is it likely that the guy I bought it from had a good idea that this was an issue. Thanks for your help!!

I just bought it and the previous owner sooped it up w/ a 350(stock out of a 1 ton chevy van), and a TH350 trans. It has a 650 cfm Holley 4 bbl on it. I was wondering, how hard would it be to swap out that motor for an MFI LT1 350 from a Chevy Caprice police car? Those are crazy fast...and they take so much abuse. How hard would it be to wire up the fuel injection and the ECU? And would i have to get a different radiator for the reverse flow cooling system?

The rattle is coming from the cylinder 1 area, and seems to increase with revs, also accompanied by an almost inaudible squeek. The codes were read and cleared by a friend of mine, it threw 3 codes. An MAF circuit high, IAT circuit low, and misfire on cylinder 1. Also, just replaced the spark plugs, thinking i blew one, so that didn't fix the problem. Also accompanied with the problem is the backfire and loss of power, although if cylinder 1 is misfiring that would be the answer to that, just figured that might help add to the details. I haven't yet taken it to a garage, I don't have the money, I'm just trying to see if anyone on here might have had a similar problem. Preferably with a 4.6 litr sohc engine in a mustang from the years 1999 to mid 2001. Although I'm not picky, any ideas, help or advice is appreciated.

If I paint my antique car will it lower the value even if I paint it the same color (dark blue). It has some rust and needs a new shine. everything is origional including the hoses. It runs good and has very low miles. (one owner). It is 25 anniv. car. I may sell it. Should I paint it or leave it alone.
