I've heard that they exist, no joke. But is there an application out there that can PROVE with pictures and/or documentation of such? PLASTIC piston connecting rods.

Well that plastic or polymer would have to hold up to tons of heat and pressure, i believe they may be experimental but have never heard of a working application. Personally i would think there would be a ceramic prior to a plastic.

i got one in a 3.5hp briggs&stratton the connecting rod is plastic and the cam shaft, cam gear, and cam lobes are plastic and it runs fine to me i left it outside once and got some water in the carb and pulled the crank case apart and almost sh*t when i saw plastic

probably in some reciprocating pumps transferring hazardous chemicals or food processing industry. plastics are chemically inert and things like nylon are self lubricating.

If plastic can withstand high temperature, why not. But I don't think so.
