I have a 1992 Buick that has always started as soon as I turn the key. Today the past three times I've started it the engine just turns over and over for about 10-15 seconds and then it kicks in and starts. It runs fine once it's started. Why is it acting funny? I also think I smell gas when I get out of it but I'm real paranoid when it comes to things going wrong with my vehicle so that mught be my imagination. What do you think it is and does it sound like something expensive?

Was adding more oil to the engine and forgot to put on the cap on and revved the engine for a little bit will there be any damage to the car.

I've got a 2000 Honda Odyssey van in my shop right now. I did a timing belt change on it and now the Power steering pump is howling. I didnt remove any lines, all I did was remove the belt to the pump, and the resivior was never removed or spilled. The sound is coming from the pump and I've flushed the system and it went away for a little while and now its back. I've bled the system 3 times now and it comes back after it all cools down. Has anyone had any experience with this problem?

I just purchased an 1997 Ford Explorer, without an instruction manual and I need to know if anyone out there could tell me how I can turn my headlights off automatically by a switch of a button, instead of waiting like 10-20 seconds for them to shut off. This is very annoying to me and I would really be grateful if someone could help me with some mature responses. Thank you so very much!! :)

guys i dont know what to say. i have a renault cleo 2003 model automatic transmission. ever since i changed the timing belt the vehicle has no pulling power what-so-ever. and i used to get so pissed and used to step really hard on the accelerator. ive done that a coupe of times and ever sice my gear box has gone for a toss. now everytime i step on the gas i hear a big grinding sound and the shift from 1st to second is hard and noisy. fortunately the 3rd, 4th and reverse gears are fine. Any insights to this predicament. i drive very slowly on the 1st and 2nd and then pick up speed on 3rd and 4th. im really hesitating to go to the garage because this will cost me a bomb in cash. any ideas?!!??

hello, I own a 1995 Nissan Altima and I am not sure which dipstick is motor oil, there is one that has a yellow handle (I suspect this is transmission fluid) that is in the center of the compartment just in front of the engine and behind the radiator, the other is red and just to the left of the battery. Im pretty sure that the red one is oil, but with my car "pretty sure" just doesent cut the mustard for me, lol.

I bought a vehicle for carmax. I financed it thru carmax and then refinanced thru another lender the next day. Carmax called and said I owe them more money because when they called to verify the payoff amout on my trade in, the amount was higher than the amount they were given originally. Shouldnt the company I had the car I traded in financed with be responsible for the difference since they are the ones that made the mistake? Problem is I dont have the money to give to Carmax

I HAVE A 1980 GMC SEIRRA C2500 3/4 TON TRUCK WITH 2 WHEEL DRIVE THE ENGINE HAS BEEN REPLACED.
CURRENT MOTOR IS A GM REMANUFACTORURED 454CID 7.4 LITER , (NOT SURE ABOUT THE LITERS), HEAVY DUTY WITH EGR VALVE. CAN'T, LOCATE ENGINE MARKINGS?
WENT TO SMOG, AND THEY INFORMED ME THAT THEY COULD NOT FIND THE EMMISSIONS DIAGRAM FOR A 454CID HD ENGINE WITH A EGR VALVE. CAN NOT SMOG UNTIL I FIND THE DIAGRAM. I AM A CAREGIVER AND THE INCONVIENENCE OF NOT HAVING MY TRUCK TO DRIVE IS ADVERSELY EFFECTING MY CLIENT. PLEASE, ENLIGHTEN ME!!!
HOW , CAN I CORRECTLY IDENTIFY MY ENGINE SIZE. AND, WHERE I CAN GET THE EMMISSIONS DIAGRAM.
ANY IMPUT ON THIS MATTER WOULD BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED. THE VIN ON THE TRUCK IS:
TCM24AJ506599 YES THAT IS ALL OF THE VIN APPARENTLY, PRE-1980 VECHILES HAD FEWER NUMBERS

I am in the market for a new car. i cant decide between the new toyota camry and the new chevy impala. i jst came from a local toyota dealership and he confirmed what i already knew---american cars are marked up above msrp. What i need to know is how much chevy vehicles are marked up, and if so how much do you think i could talk the dealership down from the msrp of 21,995 for the chevy. please be descriptive in your answers i realy need help with this.

I was in a minor parking-lot fender-bender on Saturday. I was at the mall and all of the parking spots were filled up and I had to park way in the back but there was a lot going on because there were all of theses promotional tents up. I found a spot between two cars and was moving in but it was kind of tight because they were both parked so close to the boundary line so I had to pull out to straighten up and I bumped into one of the cars and it left a dent about the size of a hand. It was a promotional car for a local car dealership and the promoters were there and they got my information and stuff from my license, but I didn't have insurance so I told them i had left it at home. Anyway, the police didn't arrive to file a report or anything and I have insurance now (i didn't have it before cos my parents had cut it off) but I got it after the fact. I am a very poor college kid and I hardly have money for food, much less a settlement. I'm reallydistraught! What should I do?
