I am in the market for a new car. i cant decide between the new toyota camry and the new chevy impala. i jst came from a local toyota dealership and he confirmed what i already knew---american cars are marked up above msrp. What i need to know is how much chevy vehicles are marked up, and if so how much do you think i could talk the dealership down from the msrp of 21,995 for the chevy. please be descriptive in your answers i realy need help with this.

Tell them you are considering a Toyota and they may lower the price. Also, say you will pay less than you actually want to, they will then haggle you up so go along with them until they then reach the price you want. That will feel as if they got extra money, and you would get a good deal. The Impala is higher rated than the CAmry (and a whole lot better looking), but before you buy consider the Saturn Aura. It is in no doubt that this is the best value. Its quality tops the Japanese models, is thousands cheaper when you add on the options, drives better, more reliability, and is flashy (YES, IT IS FLASHY). PS, toyota had the most recalls of any manufacturer last year and Ford had more than GM and DaimlerChrysler combined

It depends on the model, Chevy's aren't worth much come re-sale time. The Saturn Aura is an Opel. Opel is an Okay car. German company owned by GM. buy a Honda or Subaru, its better value.
