Well your insurance now wont be able to do anything about it. They can't call the cops then because it is on private property so they will have to pursue you themselves. I would just be upfront and honest with them regarding the fact that you did not have insurance. Explain your predicament and maybe they will set up some type of payment plan for you to pay for damages. Tell them you want to a copy of the bill before you make arrangements though. When you make payments (if it comes to that) make sure you get receipts and keep them at all times.
Good Luck to you.

It really depends on how many times you have done this. Most states require you to have at least liability insurance. Since the police weren't there to file a report, you got real lucky. THIS TIME. Next time, you'll get yourself into a bit of a problem.

You were uninsured at the time of the loss, having insurance after the fact won't help you. The owner of the vehicle will fix it, and either file the claim with their insurance, who can seek payment from you, or they can ask you to pay directly. You're going to have to be up front with them. If you decide to pay, you can pay in installments most likely. And what lesson have we learned from this???
