I just purchased an 1997 Ford Explorer, without an instruction manual and I need to know if anyone out there could tell me how I can turn my headlights off automatically by a switch of a button, instead of waiting like 10-20 seconds for them to shut off. This is very annoying to me and I would really be grateful if someone could help me with some mature responses. Thank you so very much!! :)

Look on the center (windshield) rear view mirror. There should be a switch identifying the autolamp, and you can turn it off there.

Good Luck

Yes, there should be a switch on the left side of the control panel. You can turn the knob to the correct setting to turn them off. It is not automatic. It is manual. At least that is how it works on the 2003.
