New commercial construction site near my office, but I don't know what's being built there -- looks like something big. There are no signs at the site, and no one around here knows what's going in that location. Is there a site I can search that tells me about commercial properties and what's being constructed?

Building a new apartment building. Is there a guide to high density housing which shows how many units you can fit into a 1/4 acre property, 5 stories in height?

There is a new building which is still under construction, but you can buy in advance. Has anybody had bad experiences with
buying a home not already built? Quality is also on my priority list.
I would not want to be stuck with a home where the paint starts cracking the first week after you move in. What are the things that I should look for to ensure I am getting quality?

My parents recently bought a property. The people my parents bought the property from left their plants and flowers there for my mom to take. My parents recently rented the property to a couple with a child and a grandmother. A month or so after they moved in, my mom went to the property with our gardener and started pulling out the plants in the backyard to take home. The tenant ran outside yelling at my mom telling her that she was not allowed to take the plants. She said that since she was renting the property it was HER property and taking the plants was taking part of her property.

Was she right? I have never heard of anyone do this before! The lease is very, very basic and says nothing about this. The tenants have been giving us nothing but trouble since day one. They yelled at my mom in her face and constantly threaten to call the police even though my mom did nothing to upset them. Were the tenants right about the plants and can my parents take legal action?

I have tenants leaving 2 weeks before their contract ends. Are they required to pay to the end of the month (end of their contract) even though I have secured new tenants to move in immediately after they have left?

We are moving out in Sept and my landlords are AHOLES so I am making sure I am covering my butt if you know what I mean... what do you reccomend I do to get my deposit back - both before and after we move out?

My land lord has already stated *if* he has to replace the carpet it would cost 3000 dollars.

We have had 2 people here to inspect the place since we lived here and while one was a problem, the follow up claimed there was nothing wrong with the place and it is in good condition.

I think that the land lord is out to get our money as our deposit was 2600 - (yes this was the whole deposit - not including the rent... and it is including the pet deposit of 500 which is supposed to be refundable. )

Any suggestions?

my father died last winter, and due to "bad wording" by my parents' attoney, my mother was forsed to endure the last almost 7 and 1/2 months, to get the probate court date of the 25th of this month. not, to mention the 10K it cost for "the fees". my father's passing was enough, but then my mother had a heart attack, which has left her pretty much disabled, at this point. during these tramatic events in our lives, we were just notifed that my mother's house, the house my father left her in his will, has had a foreclosure process just filed. i was forced to move in with her to help take care of things, bascially try to take over the situation. i don't mind saying it, because it is obvious in my question~i'm in over my head, to say the least. can i stop this foreclosure process somehow. where do i start. with just a limited income level myself (& two sons to raise), i JUST now caught her up to date on almost all ofher bills. she was in a three month back date on all her bills. ideas?

We just bought the house one year ago with an appraisal, and did no work on the outside what so ever. The city is telling us our house costs 5,000 more than last year. How can they decide that when there are 28 foreclosed homes of 1500 households which was not that high when we first moved in, can we do anything about it?

However after the court case and after the landlord recieved the papers from the court to proceed with the eviction, he decides to re-enstate the month to month lease. Now the problem is that I wrote the landlord a check and it bounced the first time but 2 days after that my bank runs the check again and it clears but the landlord claims he didn't receive the money and I offered to show him documentation in regards to the check clearing but he still insists that I pay him again or he's going to evict me and I refuse to pay him twice....What are my legal rights in this situation?

I've been in a lease over 1 year. I signed the lease for that year. But when It came time to re-up the lease, I didn't sign a new one. The price of rent was even changed, and we had to pay for cable, which we didn't have to before, now under these circumstances, wouldn't I not be obligated to stay, or give notice, because we have not signed a revised copy of the lease?

Do your credit score need to be higher to get an interest only or ARM loan? Are the downpayments higher? I have a median score of 602, income/debt ratio is fine. Looking to buy a house to stop wasting money in rent. It will not be my dream house and moving in 5-7 years will not be a problem. The housing market in my area is doing ok, dont anticipate any problems selling later.

My sister is executor of Mom's will. We are closing on her house. The house is still in Mom's name. We are the only two inheritors. My sister says I can grant her power of attorney and she can sign all the papers legally. She also says our husbands do not need to sign anything because it is an inheritance. Is this correct?

My landlord issued a letter to all of the apartments in our building advising that he would give a 48-hr notice to CHECK THE GENERAL CONDITIONS OF THE UNITS. I asked him WHAT specifically he was looking at and he said PER THE CALIFORNIA TENANT HANDBOOK HE LEGALLY HAS THE RIGHT TO ENTER THE UNIT TWICE A YEAR. I could not find anything remotely close to this other than for emergencies, general repairs, and should be between business hours, typically 8am or 9am to 5pm on weekdays.. What is this fool talking about and can someone show me WHERE in the CALIFORNIA tenants handbook this is listed?

-Apply for house loan with false numbers...
-Get the loan and move in...
-Then get caught with the false numbers...

I saw it happen with grossly exagerated numbers. I just wanted to know what could happen to the borrower if they are caught after moving in.

I'll be 17 in two months, I'm planning on getting my own apartment. These apartments go off income, and I make around 650$ a month. I'm willing to work more hours then I already am if needed.

So I have a couple questions.
- Could a parent sign a lease for me, in their name with the apartment complex knowing that my dad isn't going to be living there with me. Will they okay it? If I prove I'm financially stable.
- Can I apply for food stamps at 17 if I live on my own?

Also, my parents said I have to leave when I'm 17, or else I'd stay until my 18th birthday. I have a 3.8 in school, and I've never been in trouble with the law.
