Is there a website that can show me the asking price of other homes that were sold in the area and what they actually sold for in the end?

In a legal sense, how should we proceed? All own 1/3rd each, somehow written into a contract or is it simpler if just one of us owns it & the others rely on trust that they are owed their share? Is it easy & normal to have a contract written for such things? can a template be downloaded from the internet, to be filled in by each partner in order to save on the costs of a solicitor? Any answers or other relevant advice will be gratefully received. Thanks in advance, Phil

I am trying to buy a house that is listed at $190K.
- It has been on the market for 9 months
- The front and back yard have gotten out of hand, the inside has spiderwebs in almost every corner, there is a hole in the garage wall almost a foot wide
- Other houses in the area have sold for as little as $170K in the past year but as much as $220K.

Our first offer to the seller was $175,000 and conditional on a home inspection. Would you consider this a low ball offer or is it fair? Does it matter that the listing says "priced for quick sale" and asked for "as-is offers" only? My realtor told me that just means he is not obligated to fix non-warranty items, like doors, flooring, etc.

Is there a website that can show me the asking price of other homes that were sold in the area and what they actually sold for in the end?

checks now. I received a letter from my employeer that I have been fired and can apply for unemployment benefits. Will I be able to apply for unemployment once I am released to look for a job. the reason my former employeer fired me is My job was eliminated (while I was out from the job injury) and 30 days was given to find another position within the company. I could not apply for any position within the company, because my doctor would not release me back to work. I was waiting for my surgery date.

My friend is thinking of choosing a realtor for selling her home. She showed me a couple of brochures from national realtors, which said once listed, the realtor "guarantees to sell your home in 61 (another said 90) days"

Is this some sort of scam?

I am moving out of my apartment and leaving before my lease is up. I feel it is in my responsibility to fill my half with someone to sublet my space. My roommate says he isn't comfortable living with someone new and wants me to keep paying even after I've moved.

The apartment manager already said I could get someone to sublet. But my roommate says he doesn't want me to. Does my roommate have the legal right to dissapprove a sublet?

Please answer only if you really know the true, factual answer, thanks!

Why does landlords and associations criminalise people who have worked for all their lives, but are now classed as disabled, and have the benefits granted?

I keep hearing about how it is the lenders fault that people are in over their heads in mortgages. WRONG....People know exactly what they are doing at the time they sign up for their mortgages. Truth in lending makes sure of this. Everyone that did an arm loan knew that their loans were going to be bumped in 3 / 5 / or 7 years. They knew they had this amount of time to get a conventional loan. Why is this the lenders fault. Now, people are trying to sue these lenders rather than agreeing to their contracts. If you are one of these people, sorry for what is happening to you, but are things that go wrong in your lives ever going to be YOUR fault?

My mom currently cares for an elderly uncle who is mentally quite fine, just old and frail. His wife passed many years ago. Our elderly uncle only had one son who never married and sadly is very sick in a nursing home. With no other heirs that he sees fit, our elderly uncle passed on his home to my mother. She now wants to give the home/lot to me, so I can build a new house. My only fear is that my mother's greedy and estranged cousins will come after the home/property if my uncle passes. They have never come forth to help with my uncle's care, but they're very willing to get their hands on his possessions.

My mom's paperwork was all done up with a lawyer and she is now paying the taxes on the home, but am I still at risk of being sued by my greedy relatives??

Anyone have any advice.

We're in the process of buying our first house and I was curious if it's necessary to have the home inspection done prior to signing the P&S agreement, even if the P&S has an inspection clause in it.

I am interested in purchasing a home that is being sold for $220K. However, I preformed a parcel search and discovered the home was sold last month for $10. Why could this be?

Two months ago we signed an 18 month lease agreement with our landlord for our business. Prior to signing the lease we were in negotiation and the landlord expressed that he was thinking of selling the building, at that time I told him that I would not sign a lease with someone that I did not know, he did not want to tell me who was interested. Approximately one month later he then said that he was not going to sell he was going to add on and that the bank required a lease with all of his tennants. So we signed an 18 month lease, about 1-2 weeks later he sold the building. Is the lease that we signed with the former owner transferable to the new one, or since I expressed that I did not want to sign with someone that I did not know is the lease void? There has been nothing in writing besides the old owner giving me a recipie card with the new owners address. The lease that we did sign has noting in it about being transferable. Any help is greatly appreciated

My boyfriend and I are in the process of buying a house. We are set to close on 3/23. Yesterday our mortgage broker called and said we may have problems closing because we do not have enough money in our accounts to cover closing cost. Nowhere along the lines were we ever paying closing costs...the seller agreed to cover all costs at the start. We've paid for the inspection, attorney, etc. Can things fall through at this point because of this?? Our broker recommended we add our names to my boyfriends fathers bank account to help it look like we have the money if we needed it. The problem is we are in Virginia and his dad is in South Dakota. It's very unlikely we will be able to do this 6 days before closing. Shouldn't our broker have brought this up before..she's known exactly how much money we've had from the start.
