I am in "discussion" with my neighbour over who owns a fence between our back garden. As neither of us can find our land deeds, how can we find out who owns the fence.

If you are behind on your rental payment and the landlord has received a judgment against you, can your landlord put you out during the bankruptcy perceedings or can they put you out before? Feel free to email.

The payment went up from borrowing from it. Obviously, I cant afford it for too long.So can i just put it back and lower my payment again? That will give me the loan -to-value cushion again right?

I am in my mid-20s and own my own business so I can live pretty much anywhere in the US. I have spent most of my life in the northeast with a few years in the southeast (not for me). I prefer cities to small towns and need to be within a reasonable drive (less than 2hrs) from a major airport. I would prefer an area with a lot of young professionals and a vibrant social scene. I would like to be able to find housing for around 250k. Weather isn't really a big deal but I don't like hot and humid together. I am fairly liberal but can get along with pretty much anyone. I also have a dog so a pet-friendly city is a plus. Thanks so much for your insight!!

I am planning to get a roommate to move into my condo. I have never rented nor rented out a space before so I am unsure of how this process works. I plan to draw up a legal contract for the lease but what stipulations are typically included in it? Also, if anyone can direct me to any resources for this it would be greatly appreciated!

We are moving to Fort Eustic, Virginia. I would like to know if there is a way to find out more information about the surrounding area. We are looking to buy a house this move. I want to know if there is a way to find out crime rates, schools in the local area. Things that are important when buying a house that realtors don’t tell you or can’t.

There is some land nearby I'm thinking of buying. They say when you build, you can have one home and one mother-in-law/guest cottage connected to the main house by a covered walkway.

But, I cannot afford to build a house right now -- and I can't afford to invest in something I cannot live in. Yet I really want to do this if I can think of a way.

I was thinking maybe I could save money by building the mother-in-law suite, living in that for a few years (2 people - no kids), and THEN building the house when I had the money!

Or, selling the property with just the guest cottage on site (if I move).

If I buy the land (in subdivision/underground utilities, city water, paved roads, etc.), I want to know:

1) Would it really save me money to go this route and have the guest cottage built and not the main house?

2) Could such a cottage be built decently (pref brick/wood floors/ 1 bedroom/ 1.5 bath w. loft & deck) for less than $100K?

I live in North Florida. Thanks :-)

My credit score is between 660 and 687. I need to refinace my current rate 7.35 adjustable mortgage. What kind of rate will I get.
Countrywide my current lender says I only qualify for a 8.75 rate because I had a bankraupcy in 1997 and I had two collections in 2003 due to my husbands illness and inability to work. He has since started to get Social Security and Retirement benefits.
I pay all my bills on time and pay more then the minimum on all of them including on my mortgage.
I can't see why items from 3 yrs ago should still affect my credit since I have been making sure I pay everything beforeit is due and do not use more them 1/3 of my credit available.

I have decent credit. It's almost been 8 years since my bankruptcy, and I've managed credit well since then. I have an average income (between $40K and $55K) and currently rent. In my area, average homes go for $300K and up, but my daughter is in a good school district. Should I sacrifice my daughter's education and try to buy a home in a less than desirable area, or should I continue renting and be depressed because we rent an apartment? I really want to own a home!!! Can it be done?

One of the listings on your website is supposedly under a contract, and according to your site it has been relisted on March 14th and is available for sale again. In a meantime the broker tells me it's under a contract? Who's telling the truth? Your website or the broker? Or is anyone playing games here?
I'm talking about MSL listing # 135023.
