Is it a good idea to purchase a residential service contract? Why does Seller reimburse Buyer at closing cost for the cost of the residential service contract in amount not exceeding $350 if Buyer purchases a residential service contract?

My realtor called today to let us know we'd be closing on our home this coming week. She also said our mortgage guy has put our home owners insurance in place. Is it normal for him to have chosen it for us?! And didn't consult us on it?

What is the best way to unload my 2-years-old home (4 br/3 bath) in the Tampa Bay area if my home has been on the market for 8 months with no "bites" and renting is not an option? I got a job in Minnesota and I really want to buy a house there, but I can't because I am stuck with the house in Florida that I am still paying for. Is foreclosure on the Florida house an option for me shortly after I buy a house in Minnesota? Please advise.

I rent an apartment in NJ and will be moving out on April 30, 2007. I have given my landlord the proper notification and understand that he would like to have the place occupied by May 1. He wants to start showing the place ASAP, however I am very uneasy about strangers around my belongings and my cat. What are my options? Thanks in advance...

I had an appointment with a mortgage broker today and having been close to pre-qualifying 2 years ago I had an idea that I was about to be taken on the same type of "ride" I just wish that seeing what they were trying to do I think it might have helped if they kissed me first =p

I have the feeling that a FHA loan will get me the best intrest rate for all of my individual factors. No outstanding credit at the moment and only one of three credit reporting agencies even give me a score (660) So with a 6.5 intrest rate in mind. I thought Id entertain the idea of meeting with this broker( who was very aggressive on the phone )at first for the realtor called two lenders and I had them both calling me at home and giving info w/o knowing who was whom... another story =p
Not knowing the exact details of the 2 offers that were presented on the table I can just say one was 7.5 + 2 points and the other was 8.5 +1 points both very similar numbers on about 225k with 34 down Lender makes 6k?

You need to keep in touch with them, but no one has made any showing appointments on their house. Assume that the house looks good, the net pictures look good, the price is nice, etc. I just need to write an email script and don't know what more to say other than, "I'm currently awaiting feedback on your home. I look forward to speaking with you soon and will be in touch. Don't hesitate to contact me with any questions."
What should be said?
Thanks

The required Mississippi inspection report (provided by seller) allows inspections which state that if a problem is not visible to the eye, they are not responsible. We received and were asked to sign this report on the day of closing along with all the other paperwork. So, I went to the seller's disclosure statement which states that the structure was under a termite contract. When I called the realtor for a copy of that contract, she said that she couldn't help me because she was unable to contact the seller. She gave me the name and number of the next prior owner of the house, but said that if he had a contract, the bond would be up by now. I don't understand how that would help.

I will know in a couple of days how serious the problem really is. If it is serious, do I have any recourse, or do I just need to bite the bullet?

Hoping to make a profit. The problem is, now that the housing market is in a recession, I am in danger of foreclosure. The reason being is that I have a 1% negative amortization loan. The loan balance that I owe is more than what the home is worth. The property is in Antelope, CA. Should I just try to sell it for a loss or should I just foreclose on it. Also, I have tenants in the home. Can I sell with the tenants still in it. Please help. Thanks.

I live in orlando, Florida. I'm looking to purchase my first home. I make $45,000. I don't have any debt just a car payment for $400 and car insurance. I can put $10,000. I'm a single with no kids and was wondering how much house i can afford and how much a bank would lend me.
