I have leased my building for 5 years and 2 months I was behind on my lease for under 60 days, the landlord sent a notice to pay rent in full by such date. I did not pay on that date knowing he needed a court order to evict me. He broke the window in my side entry door, changed the locks and moved my company somewhere unknown to me? (Oregon)

A company I have never heard of before stated they accidentally paid my escrow to my county. Apparently the County states that they did but we do not have verification of this. Should my mortgage company (who pays my escrow) just blindly pay this other company back and then charge me? How can another company accidentally pay someone else's escrow? Why doesn't the county pay them back and then charge me? Something seems odd. Thanks for your help

I put in an offer on a home a few weeks ago that was $75,000 less than listing price. My agent looked less than enthused to be wasting his time drawing up the papers. We did anyhow, and he called me an hour later to let me know my offer was flat out rejected with no counter offer. How do I know he actually put my offer in (I am aware it is against the law if he didn't) Do all buyer's agents get a rejection letter from the seller's agent? I would like proof that it was rejected (since I don't trust him) Was wondering how I find out it was truly rejected. This is in Mass. Thanks

Two years ago, me and two others bought a house but left me off the title and loan due to my credit issues.

Now one of the owners need to file bankruptcy. We are prepared to refi one of our loans to pay his portion out.

My concern, is that his portion will be be a third of the equity in the home, however when he goes to court I'm concerned that the bank/creditors will ask why his share was not equitable and demand more money.

He does not want a Homestead exemption, just to cut his losses and move on.

Will the bank question this or is it worrying about nothing?

I have receipts showing my payments on the mortgage even though I'm not on it.

Does anyone know how much a lawyer costs?

Thanks

I am one of those brilliant individuals that bought his first house using a no money down, interest-only loan at the top of the market last year in Southern California. For us, it looks like foreclosure is the best option (as opposed to short selling). I'm wondering if we are culpable for property taxes and HOA fees?

My building is up for sale
when i signed my lease my landlord said that he would not enter my house without notifying me unless an emergency. he said that he might have to show the house and would notify us.
today was the 2nd occasion that he entered my apartment without notifying me. both times he brought 2 people with him to look at the house. the first occasion we told him not to enter our house again without notifying us.

I took over a lease in September for my apartment. I have until April on the sub-lease. In the three months since I have moved in my car has now been broken into twice. I would like to get out of the lease and not pay to stay here until April, I just don't feel safe. Is there any way to get out of this legally without having to find another person to sub-lease? I live in Illinois.
