I am looking to get out of renting, and my lease is up in almost 3 months. (end of Dec). Question 1. When should I start looking for a mortgage, to be preapproved or prequalified? Question 2: what is the real difference between preapproved and prequalified? Question 3: I have been looking online and most free mortgage searches have a thirty day lock. Does that mean I have to find a house and close in thirty days? Good HELP PLEASE and THANK YOU! All online help say the same thing but I am not really understanding when I should actually grab a mortgage.

I am in deep with a little equity and wondered if I should sell and bank the profit and then rent for a while or move to better housing market?

I've been hearing about this, where realtors make you take most of your furnishings out, and this decorator person rents furniture to bring in so the house sells for more.

Now, I'm looking at the local real estate ads, and I'm looking at a living room that clearly looks staged.

Would you trust that if you were looking for a house? I'd want to see how the owners used the space, not a random hired decorator.

Opinions?

In trying to sell a holiday timeshare I have signed for a different kind of holiday deal where this new company have bought my timeshare for me in a 'cashback' deal. I supposedly get the cash back in 59 months from a company called CashBack Promotions. The 'investment' is guaranteed by the International Bank, but I can not find any information about this bank.

I live in Michigan (where the market SUCKS in every aspect) and orginally bought my home for $60,000 and after 3 years refinanced it at $100,000 (yes I have/had that much equity) to get rid of credit cards/loans and make more improvements. Is $100,000 a lot to owe on a home? PS- I purchsed my home where I was 19, I am now almost 23. Tell me what you think!

When I signed a year lease, my landlord knew we were looking to purchase a home. He said as long as we gave 30 days notice, he would not hold us to our lease. I don't dare put in an offer on a house, until my legal obligation is removed from signing the year lease. Is having my landlord sign the lease stating our obligations to the lease are null in void enough, or does he still have the right to pursue legal action if once we move out he changes his mind?

We haven't used it yet and probably never will. But paying stupid amount of money on these suckers. What and how can we sell without loosing anymore or being ripped off again?

We've had a house on the market for two months with no nibbles and hardly any lookers. The house is in a good neighborhood (good schools, shopping, away from bad traffic areas, easy access to freeways) and is in great shape. We had more interest in the house when it was for sale by owner. We had a deal that fell through and decided to get a realtor because we moved four hours away and didn't want to deal with having to go back to show the house. Are some listing agents better than others? With so many buyers looking at houses on the internet now, does it matter who we list with? If it does matter, how do we find out which realtors have had the most success in our neighborhood? Thanks.

I just moved into a new apartment. There is no shower curtain in the bathroom. I don't know whether they are suppose to furnish it or if I am suppose to buy my own. I don't want to waste the money if they are suppose to furnish it. There are already couches in the living room and beds in the bedrooms. So isn't the bathroom suppose to be furnished too?

Gorgeous George & his Four grown Sons.

1.) George, owned and operated a small engine repair shop from my rental home and used the hall tub as a parts cleaning vat.
2.) His son Frank, build a chicken coop in the garage where he housed upward of 35 chickens & two roosters.
3.) Two of his sons Steve & Nick were both arrested for running a pawn shop out of the master bedroom. My property was on the 6:00 PM & 11:00 PM news and on the front page of two local news papers.
4.) Georges ex-wife shot out three living room windows, adding another arrest to the property, and another visit from television and reporting crews.
5.) Someone pulled out five windows and bricked over them with out my permission, but no one knows who actually did it?
6.) Georges youngest son Wayne was arrested for having a stolen cow tied to a tree in the back yard and was charged with cattle rusteling.

2 years ago we completely remodeled one of our triplex units, including the bathtub/shower, etc and rented it to a coworker, who weighed around 500pds. Now the tub cracked and has a hole in it that we are not able to patch. Need to replace the whole thing-this will take a few days to accomplish. Who is responsible for the damage? Should we compensate the tenant for the inconvenience or should we take it out of their deposit for the damage? Can't believe this has happened after all the work we put into that place!
