Ok, so my b/f move to Portland, Or, thinking it will be better. It turned out super bad, and we have only been here for almost a year. My b/f is super depressed, and sits there and whines about his life, and how he wants to move back but can't. I mean...is it possible to go back to cali and have a better life, or am I living in a pipe dream world. I heard the economy is better there. My b/f is a graphic web desinger.....where can he find the best job and the best living situation?? Since we have been in Portland, we have been brutally scammed and totally want out of this **** hole.

Ok, I paid rent through February 2007 when My landlord said he was leaving to live closer to his kids, he left a man in charge of the property. Soon after he left, the guy he left in charge said the house was in foreclosure and he won't be able to manage the property. The landlord never answered our calls. Then, an occupancy manager from the bank showed up and told us that he needed to talk to the landlord, we told him he was gone. The occupancy guy came back and told us to stay put for now, but that the other properties would have locks changed. When I called the bank they won't talk to me. The landlord has a blog he writes on daily which states he no longer owns property. I don't know where to find out whether or not this house is in foreclosure, but a man from the courts said it has been in pre-forclosure for over a year now?!!? That was 6 months ago...Who can I call to find out if this home is in fact in foreclosure? I have children with me! It's In Madison Co. Illinois.

I am considering a condo purchase but all of the property taxes that my realtor looked up are extremely high. I wondered if perhaps condos ar not eligible for homestead exemption.

Ten people buy condo and share equal amount of equity may sale there part but only 1/10th of it. Each person would have over 5 weeks throughout the year they could either rent there weeks or stay in it or trade weeks with one another. But their would be a set schedule for everyone to have equal amount of time in peak seasons. All would be on the deed of ownership and availbe to their 1/10th of ownership and may be able to sell there part at any price but the buyer would only own 1/10th to keep it fair for everyone else. Of course there is fees yearly or monthly but between 10 people this would be fairly cheap. It sounds like a time share(i guess in a way it is) but you would be an actual owner with 9 other people and all decisions would be voted on,and of courrse there would be legal documents made up for everyone just to keep it all legal for everyone and we could all have a good vacation spot for years to come with several weeks a year to enjoy.

We live in Texas. There is an easement on the side of our house that was originally meant to have a road. This was over 20 years ago. We purchased the house with a fence significantly over the easement about 10 years ago. Do we own this land now or is it the city's. A tree fell down and they want us to split the cost of the removal. The land is quite valuable and we would prefer to keep the land and pay for the tree.
