I am considering a condo purchase but all of the property taxes that my realtor looked up are extremely high. I wondered if perhaps condos ar not eligible for homestead exemption.

Condos are eligible for homestead exemption. But you have to apply before a certain time of the year. Look it up on your County property appraiser's website.
