What if the purchasing persons are related to the realtor. I requested to put in an offer on some vacant land, and after a few days of silence the realtor tells me the property is pending. can i fight back or should i just use a different realtor next time!

When we moved into our apartment we had requested that the land lord put in hand rails for the stairs that we have. He came and measured and never brought any thing. Well last night I slipped on them and fell on my butt and hit my ribs, and arms. Today in the morning I had a lil bit of a sore back. I know I need to call them and let them know what happend, but should I take it further than that??

ok. I have been living @ my place for 1 year now and will be renewing my lease on July 1st because I have nowhere else to go. Now my brother works w my husband(they work @ night). My landlord has been asking me, my husband & my brother if my brother is living @ my place. We are not lying to them & have told them many many times that no he is not living w us. He is helping my husband work @ night and he spends a few nights over since they get in @ 5:30am. And 2 times a month my brother babysits my 7 year old son. Now my landlord is very noisy and I am sick of them asking. Does anyone know of any tenant rights that I can print out that do have relevance to my situation? I need help!

I live in Pennsylvania and rent an apartment. My lease ends on July 31st, and I just notified my landlord on June 14th that I was not going to renew my lease. He stated that he sent 3 notification letters- one of which I received and it noted that I had to tell him by May 31 that I was not renewing. He also stated that since I did not contact him back, he automatically renewed my lease- is this right? Don't I have 30 days before the end of the lease to notify the landlord? Will I have to pay for another year? I'm freaking out, please help.

I am moving at the end of the month and was told a month ago after an open house he (landlord) had found new renters. Yesterday I got an e-mail saying he wanted to show the place again and requested that it be shown today at 10am (no problem) and 7:30pm. I asked him politely if we could reschedule the evening viewing as my family is processing a loss and this would be disruptive. He told me via e-mail that 'rest assured I will be there and I will be coming in!' (in bold and underlined). I know I have to allow him access when it's a reasonable request, but he's being unreasonable (not to mention demanding and what feels like harassment). This was initially a lease with purchase option, but he would not put anything in writing. I finally asked him to put something in writing and he threatened to 'go from being a nice landlord to a mean one' because of my 'attitude' (I have this in writing, by the way). He is a real estate agent. Do I have any recourse? Any thoughts? Thanks!

Sold house, bought another. Using most of the sale profits as down payment on new house, but keeping about 15k out for furnishings and to pay off car loan. What are the tax implications, both federal and state (Oregon)?
