how do I find out if a home builder is licensed in the state of ia?

Check with the Builders League. The National one is www.nahb.com, and you should be able to find local links in there. The BBB may give you an idea as to their performance record as well though.

Check with the BBB for your state. They should have all the information you need to know about the builder. If the builder is not listed, find another builder. You could find yourself in a whole lot of trouble if you can't trace his history
