i need to make a payment to an individual who has an account at a different bank. if i do it through the bank they said they charge a fee of 30£ but apparentrly through internet banking it's free. has anyone done this? is it ok if it's not the same bank and is it really free because the information on the bank's site doesn't say anything about charges.
Thank you

I applied for a personal loan, recieved a call from someone from Debt sollutions associates, they said that I was approved but that the loan had to be secured. The 3 ways that they would secure the loan would be if I had 1. a co-signer,2.colateral,or 3. security insurance blanket method. which would be a deposit of 10% of the loan amt which would be $600.00. I am suppose to western union my security deposit to Nickesha Hilton who I was told is the head of finance there. I just want to make sure that this is not a scam.

I have $15,000 that I would like to transfer to Vanguard. I heard about the 5.10% interest rate that Vanguard is paying for their "Prime Money Market Fund." However, I also read in their site the following:

"A money market mutual fund investment is **not insured** or guaranteed by the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation or any other government agency. Although a money market mutual fund seeks to preserve the value of your investment at $1 per share, it is possible to lose money by investing in such a fund" ( https://flagship.vanguard.com/VGApp/hnw/FundsSnapshot?FundId=0030&FundIntExt=INT )

Does this mean that I can actually lose my money because their Money Market accounts are not insured? I wouldn't mind the risk of losig $10 but I wouldn't want to risk my entire money. Please help.

Actually, it's an error on the company I work for saying I owe them PTO when I really don't, but anyway, if I quit I know all PTO has to be paid back on the last check. What if there wasn't enough hours worked and yous till owed PTO hours to them and you have direct deposit, even if you no longer have payroll checks deposited, can they just whenever they feel like it, withdraw money out of your checking account just because they have the banking and routing number on file? This seems illegal, but I was just wondering.

I'm pretty sure I got taken advantage of in a big way and wonder how how I didn't see it happening!

My credit rating at the time was poor, even though I had a perfect record of making 5 years worth of payments to Toyota always on-time and in-full...

Price of vehicle= $16,419
Down payment= $1,000
Monthly payments of $338.51 for 4 years= $16,559.97
Residual value at lease end= $7,530 (The actual value is $1,500-2,000 higher)

i posted a Q earlier about strange activity on my bank card. 5.50 was taken from my account from WP stagecoach. since searching google, there are forums with people whove had the same thing, so its obviously a scam. Any one else had this? How safe are out debit and credit cards? it makes me wanna take all my money and shove it under my mattress!

I wrote at least 4 personal checks, all at about the same time that bounced because a cash distribution from my IRA.got hung up for five weeks. Thinking money would come any day I did not try to liquidate other instruments and did not cover my deficit.
I have three questions. In a 6 week period at least 40 charges of 35 dollars appear on my statement as penalty for each returned check. Thats over 1,200 dollars of penalties and except for the initial return of a check, they say they do not keep record of the checks that have been re-submiited. Can they do that? (I'm in Mn).
Is it appropriate that the bank charges me 7 dollars per day for being overdrawn?
They also charged me 140 sdollars for interest on my reserve line neg balance.
