He does say i can relie on him, i need 2 grand. But i am struggling after givening up a full time job due to ill health. I dont want him to start looking down on me or think i would use him in any way. But all ican think about is money problems and some days i cant sleep. I had to give up my job but now im skint. I am an independent woman and usually depend just on me, but i am max out with a bank loan of 1k. what do you think.

No way!

120K isn't really that much money these days and I suspect he has his own plans for it.

Never lend money or borrow money from friends as it only gets in between you like a noose around your neck.

You will still have to pay back the money at some stage.

Good Luck.

Sorry, i don't think it's a good idea. I leant my ex money, she never paid it back, always saying she was skint, and out of affection i let her pay me later.... after a while i started to resent her, thought she was taking me for a mug and it really came between us. I suggest you keep your independance, speak with one of these debt consolidation companies or citizens advice, and go it alone. Your ex may see that you're making the effort and might even offer you the money - then you'll feel happy knowing you didn't have to ask for it!

i wouldnt personally, its sounds like you still have a good relationship, and without sounding harsh no way of paying him back in the near future , speak to the loan company/bank etc most will help you out for the short term at least as they want the money back but i would only ask him as a last resort, could you try any family first beforehand as it is always better with a direct family member .

just my opinion
