The only thing I'm rich on is Love. It's great. Have more debt than I know what to do with, but I got my hubby and that helps.

Well, studies have shown that when people elevate themselves from poverty to middle class happiness increases. After a certain level is attained there isn't much of a difference. No doubt life is more comfortable with plenty of money. But I've know people with nothing who were very happy and some seriously miserable people who had mansions in Beverly Hills. I say money is an important piece of the happiness puzzle. You can live very well if you earn well, are frugal and invest well. You needn't be rich. Too many people don't get that. They think being loaded will make them happy. You have to be happy first.

there is nothing great about having wealth in itself. What is great is the freedom it offers. For example, having wealth means not having to work in a job you hate, being able to give things to people you care about, having the money to get health care when you need it, having the ability to choose to spend time at home reading a book or cruising around the world--if you want.

Basically, it all comes down to freedom and security. That is what is great about wealth.

Being able to afford the comfortable things in life. Not having to live pay check to pay check. Living in a safe neighborhood. Being able to pay your bills and stil have money left over to go out to eat or go on vacation. Being able to give money to charities because you have it... and being able to afford to put your kids in sports or other classes. Some people may take these things for granted but for a lot of people its a huge struggle.

Financial stability. Other than that making the most of what you do have, and appreciating the good things life has given you, will bring you just as much happiness.

Beats me. They are just people like you ´n me. They all live and die, and get sick and sad like the rest of us. Just that they have money to make their lives comfortable when the going gets tough. And some of them think that they can shove us around and get the best of everything, just cos´ they have money to protect them. But lots of them aren´t any happier.
