I'm 22 and I have horribly bad credit . I have 2 capital one cards with $500 credit limit. Plus I have been financing a car for 3 years, with 2 more years to go? Is it hopeless that I will be able to improve my credit in a couple years? I have been over the limit a couple of times plus had late car payments :(. I really honestly try to be good. but to no luck. I want to get an apartment and eventually a home. I need helpful advice in ways to improve credit as quickly as possible. I know it will take time..but I just feel dreadful with this bad credit score. Please help....

My bank only lets me take out a certain amount of money a day. Well I'm going to dinner at Applebees for a friends party. I was wondering if I could use my card like a debit card? It's a regular ATM card, but I heard from a business owner that most resturaunts let you use that kind of card like a debit card! Will it work?!

My fiance and I are looking to buy a home. Our mortgage broker looked at his credit report and his sons unpaid fines are listed as leins on his credit report. (They have the same first and last name) How do we begin to get this off of his reports?

I always get e-mails about paydayloans being guaranteed. When I go and fill out all of the forms they always say I'm sorry we cannot approve you loan at this time. These sites should not be allowed to do this. To me this is false advertisement and the company should be reported to the Attorney Generals Office in there area.

i know you are allowed to get a free credit report from annualcreditreport.com and that you are allowed one free report from each of the three credit agencies a year. however, does when they say "each year" does that go by:

one sometime between 2006-2007

or would the year go by like say you got one in september 2006, would you not be able to get another until september 2007?

i'm only wondering because i looked back in around november 2006 last year and i went to go look at it today and it told me that i already looked at it for free online this year, and i haven't tried to access in 2007 until today...does that mean i have to wait until november?

Within the last year we started getting collection letters with someone elses name, our address, and my husband's ssn. I call the collection co. and told them of the mistake and I wrote a letter. We filed a police report. The collection co sent another letter, and when I called again and asked for the origination of the loan, they refused to give it to me. The agency told me to send them a copy of his driver's license and a copy of his social security card. This sounded like a bad idea to me so we didn't. Another trip to the poice dept. Flags on credit reports. Now, several months later we have gotten a letter from the US dept of education telling us that they are going to offset his wages and/or federal return unless we pay in full. I called the number. They said we needed to send a copy of DL, SS card and birth certificate. Doesn't this seem strange? Btw, the loan was originated 30 years ago. My husband was 7. Should we get an attorney? Should we send the info? Real help, please.

I want to increase my credit rating, so I have been putting small purchases like trips to the grocery store on my card. I pay it off every month. I have had this card for over five years, and have never missed a payment. My limit has been slowly increased over the years and is now $5,000, but my balance is never over $500.

Do creditors veiw you as a high risk if you have a high limit on your card?

our credit is not the greatest. Two years ago my husband started fighting a medical condition that didn't allow him to work and he finnaly got accepted for Social Security Disablitiy in April 2007. But for the last two years we have relied on my income alone which wasn't much. So need less to say we fell behind. We are still working on getting all the way caught up. We had a friend look at our credit reports he said that there is a lot of good things on it but there are also things we need to work on. Which we have been for the last three months. But we have $6,000 dollars in medical bill still and are are behind a month on a couple payments. Will it be possible for us to get a home loan with these types of problems

When I turned 20 I signed up for a credit card (after lots of research). I got one with a $1,000 limit, and 15% APR, which has since dropped greatly. I paid for my college textbooks with it to the amount of about $500. Soon after, my car broke down and I needed repairs, so I got another one with an $1,800 limit, and 22% APR. I am very conscious with them, right now both cards are completely paid off. Now I am looking to get rid of those for a card with a high credit limit, and low interest, so I will only have one card. My entire credit history (of 2 years) is perfect. Any suggestions?

The statute of limitations had already passed but the attornies for their side, Asset Acceptance, had refiled with the credit bureau to make it look like a one-year old account (actually seven years). I have a few other accounts with them (I had a long, expensive illness in 1990). I CANNOT afford a lawyer> What can I do? Please help.

i have a charged off credit card from 5 years ago. when i first tried to make payment arrangements the agency told me that i could only either make the full payment, pay half then the other half at a scheduled time, or pay it in three payments. it was still too much for me at the time and i couldn't find enough funds for any of those options. due to not making much money at the time, i didn't try again to pay it. i spoke to a new agency recently that told me i can now make monthly payments (which will still take a few years to pay off). however, it's been five years now and i have actually been able to rebuild my credit score which is around 650 now. is it worth it to do the monthly payments for a few years or should i wait another 2 years for it to fall off my report? i can do the monthly payment but i am also a full time student still struggling. any advice?

Hi, I just checked my FICO credit score thru TransUnion and it says I got a score of 770 out of a possible 850. Now I know its a high score but how high is it really? What does this score really mean. What can I do with this score? Home loan and for how much can I be loaned from a bank having this score? I am a school bus driver and make $30,000 and my wife also makes about $30,000 a year. What kind of loan can we get with our incomes and credit score? What do banks really look at besides credit scores and income? I know the score is good but how is our income for home loans? Thank you for your time and thank you in advance for any help :-)

I have 3 cards that i've recently lost control of because I just recently switched jobs and couldn't afford to pay them. I don't want to be irresponsible and just let them go, but I am about $200 over the limit on all three, which is a lot for me to pay off as I don't make a lot and I have a lot of bills. I am starting to get slapped with late fees and over the limit fees. Will the companies work with me? Any suggestions on how to get the companies to do so?

I got caught in the payday loan scam. I needed money to pay bills and before i new it i was getting loans to pay back other loans. They were taking money out my account and the bank ended up closing my account. It has been 2 years and this man calls me threatening to send a detective to take me to jail for bank fraud. I told him i would make arrangement tos pay the bill but he said i had to pay the full amount. He will not send to me in writing how much is owed. When i called the number back they don't even say what company it is. What should i do? He said if i don't pay by Wednesday they will send someone to arrest me in front of my family or at my job.
