I have a couple of liens that have been paid off over a year ago , and a forcloseure that was paid over at least 4 years ago that still appear on my credit report.
If I still owed them I could understand it, but I don't owe these
creditors anything any longer. And the mortgage was paid off !
Someone said I should write to all these creitors individually and ask them to remove the enties, but it seems to simple to be true. And if it is true, how long after I request the removals should it take??

I was told bad debt may linger or re-surface when debt is sold to a collection agency

I have a number of late payments on my report. One for a macy's credit card and another for my bank of america. How do I ge them off! They were late because I was just out of college and did not have a job. I have since paid them down and have been making regular on-time payments but they are literally killing. I have a total of 15 late payments. 10 for Macy's and the other 5 for bank of america.

I was thinking I would send a goodwill letter for the late payments that occur in 2005 and 2006 (July 2005, June 2006, September 2006 & Oct 2006)

Any advice?? I cannot wait 7 years for them to fall off. I now have a great job and want to buy a condo but my credit score is 545 and is kicking my butt! Thanks for your help. If you recommend writing a goodwill letter, please please please provide a sample one and what I should say.

Also, should I just lie about my situation and say I got into some horrible crash or family issue?

Thanks again!

Now my payment habits are pretty good, my credit score even went up to 640, but I can NEVER get approved for ANYTHING because of the stuff still on my record and that will BE on my record for at least 5 more years. Is there a ligit way to get some or all of that deleted?? It's all been paid off, it's just still there like an eye-sore...???

I just got a credit card. They set the limit at $10,000. I'm sure I'm never going to put more than $2,000 on the card. Should I call and have the credit limit lowered? Why?

why are people "allowed" to continue bad credit practices...until it is time to buy a home...and they find out they cant get a proper loan anymore?

this would appear to be a systematic problem, not just a matter of personal finances...who is resposible bad credit...?

If I get a loan with my BF for $1500 and I have great credit is credit isnt, will my credit grow as we pay on it, or will it go down immediately because im taking on his low rate. He is good for the 1500 but im talking about in terms of my credit rate with me being the primary holder. Once its paid off, will my credit be better than before , or not as better because of his credit?

I was wondering if someone could tell me how exactly my score could be raised the fastest. I have 2 credit cards, one with $300, the other with $2,500. Each with 12%APR.

I want my credit score to improve (i think its only 700) so whats the best way to go about it? Is it better to pay off a credit card in full or make payments? (My minimum payments are about $25 month, i always put at LEAST $60/month on each & was only late ONE time the entire 2 years i've had the cards)

THANKS

I purchased a new cell phone Saturday, and that night started receiving calls and messages from someone, I on Monday told the person calling they had the wrong number, they called again, I called back tues, and spoke to them, they called an hour later,
This morning called again, I returned the call and told them again it was a cell phone to stop calling me, he said it was a home phone and would take the number off the list, they just called again, I looked them up and they are a preditatory loan company and call people up to 20 times a day. I am bothered by these calls at work, and just bothered by them, Is there a action I can take? I live in Ohio.

I recently got my car insurance in my own name. Once I start making on time payments will the credit bureaus see that as an account in good standing with on time payments and ulitmately raise my credit score?

My husband has an account with Dell that has around $900 left to pay on it. We pay around $100 each month on it, always on time and thats well over the minimum. At the time he opened the account, his credit was, well, less than desirable to say the least and they gave him an interest rate of around 18%.

Since opening the account a few years ago, he has made drastic improvements to his credit (to the point we qualified to buy a house). I was wondering if it is possible to get the company to lower his interest rate considering things are a lot better and he has paid them more than the minimum and always been on time with them. The 18% is killing most of the payments we are making, and it sure would be nice to get rid of this bill once and for all!

What approach should we take? Thanks!

Ok, so my brother made some bad choices and pretty much ruined his credit rating. He is paying off his debt now but is trying to get his rating up if possible. I have heard that I could put him as an authorized user on my credit cards (I would not give him a card to use though) and his credit will benefit from my good rating. However, will his credit affect mine in any way, vice versa?

I need the money by the end of the week. Please no scammers. I'm tired of people trying to get me to pay transfer fees, insurance fees, and non collateral fees. I need someone who is not going to charge me any fees
