I have BAD credit history from when I was young and going through a lot. Now my payment habits are pretty good, my credit score even went up to 640, but I can NEVER get approved for ANYTHING because of the stuff still on my record and that will BE on my record for at least 5 more years. Is there a ligit way to get some or all of that deleted?? It's all been paid off, it's just still there like an eye-sore...???

Time heals all wounds (and bad things on your credit report). If they are legitimate things on your credit report (late bills etc) they will come off in time... The older they are, the less they count against you. If there are mistakes on your credit report, you can write to have them removed... but they'll only come off if they are misreported.

It is on your credit report so unfortunately you cannot get it deleted or taken off unless there was a discrepancy and it is on there incorrectly. I used to be like this until I leased a car and have been paying every month on my loan which makes your credit look GREAT. Paying off a car loan is the best thing for your credit. There are people out there who have perfect credit but are still having trouble, let's say, buying a home because their credit is not as good as the mortgage companies or the banks want it to be....but if they had a car loan paid off, it would make their credit much more valuable because it shows that they were able to pay on the loan without any problems.

A credit bureau will not remove accurate negative information from your credit report before the legal time period has expired. Therefore, do not believe anyone who claims they can get negative information removed from your credit report faster than is legally required.

There are no "loopholes" or laws that credit repair companies can use to get correct information off your credit report.

Nope. You earned that credit history and it will stay there for 7 years.

The good news is that the older it becomes, the less impact it will have on your score, provided you pay all of your current debts on time.
