What does it take for them to do the actual transfer from one credit card to the next? They want to add an extra charge of 4% of the debt that I owe to transfer over. This is nonsense. I really don't think pushing a few buttons on their computers requires such an extra charge. Please explain the actual process if you really know.

Someone sent my wife a $3500 check from south africa with a letter stating I won a $900,000 drawing. They said the 3500 is to cover the taxes. They want me to cash the check and they will make arrangements to give me the money. Is there any way this can be a scam? Would I be liable for this? How would they make money off of me cashing this?

To build on another question I asked, what would happen to my credit score if I paid in full my bad debts? Would that restart the 7 years?

I currently have a 640-660 credit score and need to increase it in less than two years. I do have 3 negative items which will be at the end of their seven year mark in three months.

Okay, I have 4 credit cards at the moment.

A Bank of America Preferred Visa: $7,000 credit limit.
American Express Blue: $8,000 credit limit.
American Express Clear: $7,000 credit limit.
Discover More: $5,000 credit limit.

My question is...would it be wise for me to combine/consolidate the two AmEx credit cards and just keep one? Does AmEx even allow for this to be done? I just don't like having two of their cards...it's just another extra thing to keep up with. It seemed like a good idea at first, but...

Ok...I must admit. I was young and dumb. I received a credit card when I was 15 very easily over the phone by lying about my age. They even called me! Og course, knowing nothing about credit I did what a 15,16 year old would do - shop. Now at 22 me and my lying has hurt my credit score. It didn't matter to me then but now I have graduate and trying to establish myself. Credit is essential in this process! I was going to dispute this stating that at the time of the contractual agreement I was a minor and it was the cc company's responsibility to verify that my SSN and birth date matched. I read this in a credit forum. Is this true and does it work? Have anyone ever done this?

I will never do this sh*t again. I feel depressed and embarrased about my score when I try to obtain credit or a loan now. I need some serious advice. Thanks.

Okay so I have some medical bills on my credit that are outstanding. I no longer get bills from these companies so have no way of contacting them to pay them. What can I do about that? They are from 2000 and 2002, will they come off my credit after so many years? I also had a credit card when I was younger that was sent to collections, I paid the amount that the company required but it is still on my credit. Help, I am 26 now and would like to get my credit back on track??

I just recently got a credit card after having bad credit for a long time. I used most of the available credit paying some bill and things but I am able to make a payment on the card now ( I haven't received my first bill yet). Should I wait until the bill comes or will paying it sooner affect my credit the same?

i am unemployed but searching for permanent job. i am due to start my temp job in 2 weeks at $10/hr. don't have any bills except my cell phone and dsl. Should i take out this loan to pay off credit cards. they call my phone at least 10 times per day and i thought this might be the smartest way to pay off the loans and raise my score. Just paying off the cards will increase my score by 30 points. at the end i won't be able to get a decent credit card to raise my score. paying off my card with a loan allows me to get rid of the credit card debt and build my score by paying regular payments to citibank. I shope that this will raise my score. the consolidation loan term is 36 months. What do u think? please give some advice if you have any?

It seems that each credit card company has their cards divided into these types or classifications. What do they mean? How is Silver different from Gold, Platinum or Titanium? Are they just names, or is their more to it? Are there industry standards that determine what will be a Gold Card and what will be a Platinum Card? Do these classifications refer to different incentive plans like sky-miles or bonus-points? Are they divided based on use like personal, business, travel, etc.? Do they classify them by what credit scores qualify? Is it just a prestige thing?

Help me out, I'm lost.
