Okay, I have 4 credit cards at the moment.

A Bank of America Preferred Visa: $7,000 credit limit.
American Express Blue: $8,000 credit limit.
American Express Clear: $7,000 credit limit.
Discover More: $5,000 credit limit.

My question is...would it be wise for me to combine/consolidate the two AmEx credit cards and just keep one? Does AmEx even allow for this to be done? I just don't like having two of their cards...it's just another extra thing to keep up with. It seemed like a good idea at first, but...

Amex does allow people to combine cards.

Amex would probably let you combine the Blue and the Clear.
I doubt they will allow you to combine co-branded cards like the BoA and Discover.

Go ahead and close one of the American Express cards. Your credit score may take a small hit but it will rebound quickly.

If it is not an old card, you can close it without affecting your credit history
