I ordered a Cd from them today. I picked the option of sending a check/money order in when the CD arrives. Would it be faster if I used a credit card? Or would it make a difference?

I have a suspicion that FICO scores were designed not only to determine creditworthiness, but to determine if you are a good customer that the credit card company will make money on.

In my example, I have a history of opening cards, using them once, and cancelling them. I do this to get 10% off something, or 20,000 frequent flyer miles, or other freebies. My credit report is the size of a small novel. A lot of times, I do it to the same credit card company more than once.

However, in the past decade, I have never had a late payment or adverse report. My credit report is the size of a russian novel, but everything is clean. My debt ratios are low.

Because of this, my credit score will probably never be above the mid-700s, which isn't bad enough to make me stop my behavior, but it pisses me off that I'm being dinged for stuff that has nothing to do with creditworhiness.

The hospital claimed that I owed them money but never really sent me a bill. They were also told the truth, don't bill me because my mom is responsible for my bills. I see that they have put a mark on my credit. I want to dispute this. I wrote the FTC and filed a complaint against them. Is it possible to get this taken off my credit? How do I find out my credit SCORE for free? This is driving me crazy? Does the majority of the public have a perfect score or what is the normal score? I don't just want a free report, I want the score.

I'm 23 with good credit so far and I don't want to screw it up. I'm very responsible with my bills but I was out of work for a month and I got really behind with my rent, car payments, insurance, cell phone... etc. that I only was paying the minimum amount due. I have a loan and another credit card that has the whole "NO PAYMENTS FOR 6 MONTHS" (then the interest is super high) and I haven't paid a dime on them and the time is coming. I was wondering if I could use my store credit card to pay those 2 bills off. I would rather pay the lower interest rate on 1 card verses all three. Is this possible and how would I go about doing that? I have a low cash advance amount on my card otherwse I would just withdrawl it from an atm and put it in my bank account. Somebody please help!

I'm about to start looking for a new vehicle and also a new apartment. I've heard that when your credit report is looked up, this brings it down. I may be dumb for asking this question, but I'm probably about to have it checked several times within the next few days. It's already low enough, so I just want to make sure if this is true or not.

My wife and I are wondering how we should deal with each of our individual credit accounts. For ease of financial management we would like to reduce/consolidate credit lines. However, we understand closing credit lines could adversely impact our credit ratings. We don't want to do anything to reduce our individual ratings (both of us have credit ratings in the low 800).

Without her permission, a collection agency harassed my wife's parents, threatening legal action against my wife and discussing her debt issues with them. After then being told not to talk to them, they continued to call her parents about it.
We have no recorded conversations or messages, just the testimony of her two parents.
We are now being sued for the credit card debt, could we counter with legal action of our own?

Ok, I got my credit report on 07-19-07, and there was a charge-off on the Experian credit report that was over seven years expired (From 1999). I saw that there was an inquiry from a debt collection agency on 07-21-07. Then I got a notice from the debt collector that made the inquiry (Dated 07-22-07) saying that I owed on that charge-off and to respond within 30 days or we will assume that the debt is valid and that I owe on it. Finally, on 08-03-07, I checked my credit report again, this time I saw all 3 companies report and the charge-off was NOT on the Experian report anymore but it was on the other 2 reports and it also shows that the debt collector used only Experian to inquire about the debt. My questions are: Does this debt collector have the right to collect on this debt since it got removed from the experian report? How should I respond to the debt collectors notice? How can I have the same record removed from the other 2 reporting agencies?

Thanks,
worried,
Repair Guy
