I am planning on getting a credit card mostly to use it for gas . . . does anyone have any advice as to which credit card I should get? I know that each gas station has a credit card for their gas station . . . but like I would like to get one that I could use at pretty much any gas station . . .

The first credit card for gas that you can apply online is the Discover Gas Card.

Another card that is an instant approval card, having gas rewards along with various other rewards is the Hilton Honors Platinum Credit Card. It gives rewards at eligible gas stations, supermarkets, and many other places.

Some of the better credit cards for gas rewards are the Citi Drivers Edge card (6% at gas stations for the first year), AmEx Blue Cash (up to 5%, but tiered), Chase BP Rewards (5% at BP and other good rewards), Chase Freedom (3.75% at gas stations if redeem rewards in $200 increments), etc.

To see which rewards card will pay you the most for your gas spending or even your overall spending pattern, you can use this rewards calculator:

I would say discover card, until end of Sept they have 5% cash back for gas purchases one you reach $20 you can request a check or pay your bill, get a gift card etc. other purchases earn up to 1%. If you pay the balance off each month it's worth the points, if not try either visa or mastercard. Also discover changes it's promotions every 3 months, check out the rates/promotions and go from there.

There are many options out there for you. Just make sure you do a little research first. There are gas reward cards that actually pay you a percentage of your gas purchases. Most of these credit cards have no annual fees.
