I have the feeling that when my debt is gone my credit score won't improve. If I'm wrong , how am I wrong ? With no debt, won't my score go up eventually ? and if so , how long from the newest delinquency ?
Thanks!

I go to Ohio State University and places are always offering free stuff when you apply for credit cards. I was wondering if signing up for them and then shredding them when they came would hurt my credit score in any way

A collection agency is taking me to court in April, they are trying to make a garnishment on my wages ;i made a arragment with then the last year to make montly payments on my debit, everthing was going fine untill they start asking me for more money in my montly payments(which i can't afford to give them more money than what i am allready ), so before my court day i got prepared and i consulted a lawyer that handle this kind of cases.,he told me that i shouldn't even worry to show up at my court day because is not neccesary and the collection agency has to deal with the money that i am sending them every month and they have to take the money they like it or not...(???) also he told me that by not going to court the collectio agency lawyer will not be able to ask me where i work, so they will not able to performance this garnishment..So my question is :is this lawyer correct in what he told me?I am kind of afraid of do something wrong and my debit case may get even worse!!

Am I right? does this debt evaporate from a credit report completely ? And if there is only two years left on the calender until the 7 years is up , what is my incentive to pay the debt other than my own good consience if I'm in no need of new credit?

I don't have one. I have enough bills already and don't want to pay interest or fees, but I'm nearly 30 and am worried I'm not doing enough to build my credit.

Hi, I have an outstanding debt of around $10000 in credit card debt. Now I am want to find the best possible way to pay my debt, better my poor credit score and to lower my monthly payments.

Should I attempt to get an unsecured personal loan or get a line of credit. Does anyone know the major differences and which is better to fit my needs? Thank you for your time.

My boyfriend financed a car about 6 years ago. It broke down, and he had it towed to a shop. They did a diagnostics on it. A total of $140.00 w/ the towing and diagnostics. It ended up it would cost $4,000.00 to fix. He didn't have the money to pay for it. The shop put a lien on it. The car didn't work so he didn't pay payments on it. Well now 6 years later, his ex wife calls and she received papers saying she needs to go to court, and possible garnishment of wages, keep in mind she was the cosigner. They have not tried to contact him for repayment. Any advice? He doesn't even know where the car is.

I have about 12K in cc debt between 6 cards. For credit score reasons, is it better to consolidate onto 2 cards (which will max out both) or to keep my balances spread amongst the various cards (ranging from 1,500 - 3,500) as they are now?
