Good Question. My answer is "No" I would not have. Not to get too tecnical, but the "one word" name would have thrown it off. I'm not a teller, but have been around banks enough to know that a teller position is at best an entry level education. I could see it being cashed.
Putting it into context though. Even if I were ignorant to identify "God" as the writer of the check, wouldn't I have to check to see if he, or she were a member of the bank with good funds?

Not on your life. While I believe in God and His miracles - I don't think he's in the habit of giving people checks - at least not signed by Him personally.

Well first you'd need to know where God Banks, so it would clear his account when you cashed.

If the person had a valid ID that stated that their legal name (whether given at birth or legally changed) was actually God, then yes - otherwise no.

There was that one fellow a few years back who leaglly changed his name to "Lord God Jehovah." I happen to believe there is one and am alternatly cringing and amused when I think what will happen when Lord God Jehovah meets Adonai Elohim Eyeh-Asher-Eyeh.

no. i know, omnipotent/present, blah, blah, blah, but if I had that kind of power, I'd at least use direct deposit instead of a standard check.

No. If he really wanted him to have it, he would have thought of a better way to give it to him.
