You can check the site or call the toll-free number on the back of the card. I believe there is a service charge for calling instead of checking online.

You can buy the Visa gift cards at most retailers. They come with a pre-set amount. Usually $25, $50, $100. You have to have cash to buy them and will be charged an additional small fee on top of the money that gets loaded onto the card. The card does not have your name on it and can be used by anybody once it is activated. So be careful not to lose it because it is gone if you do.
