If the card's annual fee is $80, does that mean you have to pay $80 a year just to use the card?

My fiance and I are trying to decide what we need to do. I'm curious how those Mortgage Companies work. Our credit isn't exactly perfect (Mine is in the low 600s). Currently, for the past 9 months we've been renting a 1 BR apartment for $780/month. We're wanting a house. Renting a house in a decent area will be between $850-1000/month-- which is a house payment! It just seems to be a waste to rent. What do the mortgage companies consider when deciding to finance you? I'm just starting out in my career, but combined my fiance and I make just under $75K/year. We also wouldn't have a down payment but I see all the time homes with 100% financing. What are our chances of getting approved? We're going to look at a house tomorrow priced around $122k in the Memphis area. And is there something we need to watch out for when speaking with Mortgage Companies? Also, I'm fresh out of college with less than a year experience. Will my lack of employment history count against me?

If yes, could I get the name(s) of these companies.
Also:
1) Do they charge you an inital fee?
2) I'm not looking to get into major debt again. Just a smaller loan to clean up some debt not covered through the bankruptcy and that I will be able to afford to pay back monthly without digging a hole for myself.

Would it be smarter to pay off my credit card (closed by the way, with no interest) in the next two months with big payments, or to continue paying with smaller payments? I want to improve my credit and I would think paying smaller payments but paying longer would be better because it shows a longer good payment history. What do you think? Would it better just to pay it off?

i was wondering that if i could prove to the bank that i could resell at a profit and could almost right away pay off the loan, if i could convince them to grant me a short term loan.

I recently received a summon to court over old debt with Providian (they demand $3000).

Couple of days later I got a settlement letter from collection agency that suing me. But they do not mention lawsuit there. It just says they will close out the account if I pay settlement amount. (which is $1000 lower then amount they are suing me for)

What are my options ?

What happens if I go for settlement before the court date ? Is my case going to get dismissed ? Any ideas what might happen ? Or any suggestions how to deal with it ?

My SOL expired Sept.2006, but it looks like they have filed lawsuit in Jul 2006, but my court date is in March. Is SOL rules apply to filing day or court date ?

I'm 21, i have a $5000 limit credit card. I didn't realise until it was too late, but i am useless with money, and i've reached my limit.
Being an idiot, i'm overdue with my payments, and i got a 'friendly warning' (direct quote) telling me to pay the minimum charge and keep up with payments from now on.

This has all happened in the last three months, and i am now paying it off frequently.

My question is, would i now have a bad credit rating? How much would it affect me in the future, and is there any way i can fix it before it could bite me on the ****?

I purchased two money orders on 03/01/2007. One for Chevron credit bank and the other one for Sprint pcs. I mailed both of them at the post office on 03/02/2007 aound 9a.m. I logged onto my Chevron account and they received my payment on 03/05/2007 (Concord, CA). Sprint on the other hand hasnt posted yet. It was sent to Dallas, TX. I cant believe 7 days later and no payment.

I called Sprint this morning and asked how long does it takes and the rep told me 7-10 days. I told her if my money order wasnt there by my due date of 03/12/2007 I was going to pay online and report the money order stolen. I have a gut feeling they are holding my payment to add late charges, but NOT Im too smart for that, I'll just pay online when the 12th gets here.

The reason I sent a money order is because I am trying despartely to get my credit cards down.
