I owe 40,000 in unsecured credit card debt. I own my home outright. I am on public assistance and going to school. I am a single mom of 5. I live in the state of Maine. Can they take my home? Can they force me to sell? I will not be able to pay until im done with school in 4 years. Im six months behind in my bills. They already are taking me to court, havent been served yet but they told me so. If they "just" put a lien , how bad does the interest add up? What happens if I ignore it until I die? Will my children be forced to sell it? Can they keep it? So upset and confused.

Last year I was taken to the ER doctor. I ended up in the waiting room for nearly 12 hours and did not see a doctor. They took blood work. Sometime after, i received a bill saying I owed them money for labs and seeing the doctor. I was told that I had to pay the bill despite not seeing the doctor so I updated my insurance information. It did not seem like it went through so I sent the payment. Now nearly a year later I receive a statement saying the insurance paid about 15% and I owe the rest. Is this normal to have this go through so long after I submitted? How do I go about this since I already made the in full payment?

How does negative credit history appear on your credit report once it's settled or paid off?
I have 4 negative accounts. One I settled in November, and should already be updated to "Paid in Full, 0 balance". Another is, as of last month, "Settled in Full", and I have 4 more payments one one and a few more on a judgement. They are supposed to be updated as paid in full once final payment is sent.

After that, even though they will remain on my report, how much will my credit score go up, because with them as they are my score is currently around 613-632.

Will they still be reported under the "negative account" category on my credit report(s)? How do they appear?

Reason, I ask is because as a loan officer I could fund mortgages for scores under 525 for a $100,000 home or more. But I can't even get a small personal loan to combine my debts into one payment and when I say small, I mean under $7000. I've tried Citifinancial and my credit union.

I am currently being handeled by a law firm in california to collect debt from a credit card. I live in florida, but I was trying to contactthem in order to "settle" my debts. They said they would only take the amount in full and by not paying it in ful;l I was refusing to do so. I only owe $4,000 but can not pay that in a lump sum, otherwise would have paid credit card. They threatened me saying the attorney and court cost will be much higher, and I should just transfer my balance to a credit card that I have open which I have not used since applying for it in 2002. The interest rate is 17.34% and If I did that it would take me almost 15 years to pay off the $4,000. How sacred of their threats should I be? What should I do?

I would like to increase my credit score to buy a house. My credit history is as follows.... My current score is 574.
Filed bk in 2002. Since then I have had 3 auto loans, which have been paid on time for the most part. I did have a credit card but it went over the limit. I settled for less than the actual amount due to get rid of it. I also have several medical bills in collections. I intend to pay them all off within the next few months. I know that the necessarily won't remove the account from my credit report but what wording should I ask that they add to the account. Is it best to pay the original creditor and act as if I did not know it went to collections? Also, how do I go about getting information added to a credit report? My bank reports to TransUnion, how do I get the information added to Experian and Equifax. I want possible lenders to get a complete picture.
Hope I provided enough information. Thanks in advance for all and any help.

Well the jusdgement says satisfied but I requested a copy of the summons from court and it seems that the case # in reference belongs to another couple all together. Who am I soupposed to contact to get this information removed from up under my social security number when clearly on this summons you can see that it is not me.

Hi folks,
Being the possesor of four gutars, , the oldest one is now covered in pritt-sticked plastic cards.
Five of them are from "Capital One"
Oh, M&S, John Lewis, WH Smith, Sainsburys, etc ad infinitum.
I have started to use the sides & back of said old guitar.
Give me Nectar points, I dont think!
Mr Barclay seems to behave himself fair enough, but I'm jiggered if I need a thing in my wallet for Easyjet.

What do we all reckon on this plastic boom ?

All replies gratefully received.

Bob.

Me and my fiance have been trying to get a car. We both have bad credit, mine is 537 and his is 517. He has a reposseion on his less than a year old and I have a car in good standing on mine, but we got it for my sister. We make together around $3200.00 monthly. We have a car that could be a trade in, but it is a 1986. Does anyone know where we could get special financing? I am willing to pay more because our car is about to go out. Thanks the reason for the repo is because we just got a SUV for $457 a month, no problem, then I started have complications during my pregnancy and my doc took me off work, and the loan place wouldnt work with us.

I owe a credit card company £3400, Ive had the card for just under a year, unfortunately due to personal circumstances I am unable to pay the credit card company the contractual monthly payments. I have tried to set up a payment arrangement (the amount I can afford at the moment) but my offers have been declined. The collection agents have been sending me threatening letter in regards to statutory bankruptcy demands and now they have said 'they will recommend the credit card company to start court proceedings with a view to securing their claim by way of a charge over my property' - What does this mean exactly - what is a charge over my property and how will this effect me? Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

I made a mistake and paid off my credit card $11,500 twice. Now I have a $11,500 credit and I've requested a credit refund check on Feb. 20, 2007. It is now March 21 and since Feb. 20 I have called customer service atleast once a week to follow up on my request (I would also email customer service through the BofA credit card website).

I would get different answers every time I would call:
"It takes 7-10 business days to get your check"
or
"There is a review for your request and it will take 30 days to complete"

And just now I called and they said they extended the review because of a "US patriot Act" in which they need to make sure the money I used to pay my credit card is legit.

Does anyone have any advice on who I can call or what I can do to get my money back? This service provided by BofA is ridiculous.
