I recently paid off all off my credit cards, and one of them just assessed me a fee of $99.00 ... What!!! I have never been charged a fee before, but this card has never been at zero balance before. I have not called them yet and I am looking for good advice on how to get them to drop the fee when I call. I have never had this happen with any of my cards before, and I am not sure what this fee is for. So what is the best way to handle it from personal experience or knowledge?

My husband has had a serious stroke. Shall I sell his pickup. Payments are $500 plus. He may not live and probably will not drive again if he does. His buddy thinks I should wait. If he dies I will have to come up with burial expenses ($1600 for cremation) and I will have to return his last SS check. We barely make our payments now. What to do?

I did not sign the loan and it was in her name. She did tell them my income but I never signed anything. Can they make me pay this bill? How did they put it on my credit report in the first place. She never gave them my social security number. We live in NY and as far as I know it is not a community property state. Help!!!!!!!

Here's the background info:

Came to the US in mid-2001, opened my first credit account shortly thereafter.

Everything was going great, making ontime payments, keeping my balance low, until mid-2004 when I hit a bump on the road, which resulted in several late payments on several accounts, a couple as late as 60, 90 days.

Picked myself up a bit, but have been only able to make minimum payments. Cards are maxed out, which is the reason for my score of 580, I guess.

Have about 4K in credit card debt, which I am planning to pay down completely within the next 3 months.

How much and how fast can I expect my score to increase? When will it reach a respectable level assuming everything goes well from now on?

Thanks in advance.

I want to order something that's not legal to buy in my state and have it shipped to a friend in another state. If I pay by credit card can the seller deny the sale because of where my bank is located?

I have always had EXCELLENT credit. In fact, lately, I have been paying down my debt in full speed. I will easily be debt free in a few months. I have not made any credit inquiries lately, and have never missed a payment in my life. I keep track of my FICO score every month, so was very surpised at the sudden drop. I've checked my credit report in the last few months, but did not notice any erroneous information. Anyway, I am going to be shopping for a mortgage loan soon, so this is really bad timing. Any other suggestions as to why the drop would have been so extreme? I manage my money well, and this score just does not make sense to me at all. I went from 757 to 712 in a month! I can't figure it out.. I still have revolving credit, but have only been using one card. I have $0 balances on the rest. Why am I getting penalized so heavily?

about 4 years ago when I was with an ex boyfriend, (he had bad credit, i had good credit) I co signed for him to get some rims and tires on his car, also I was the first on an apartment that he signed a contract with. Well, once our relationship started to fall apart he moved out of the apartment before the contract was up and didn't pay the rest of the contract and stoped paying on his rims and tires... so now that I am married my husband and I are trying to buy a house but those two things are stopping me and I don't have the money just to pay for those... and I feel like I shouldn't have to. Is there a way to try to get those removed off of my credit and help bump up my credit score?

If a loan company reposses a car what am I liable for? Is it better to just let them repo it then to stay three months behind on payments ? I am in a situation where I co-signed for someone a loan that has hid the car and wont give it to me and is continuly behind on payments and I am not wanting to pay out of my pocket.

For example:
the number of defaults
the delinquency rate
any report that has specifics about the defaulters would be most helpful. etc.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP!!!

My wife and I will be applying for a home loan soon and between 6 total scores, we have 4 which are above 680 and 2 that are hovering just under 600. Will the lenders take the middle score, an average, or simply select a random score?

I have 3 years of payments left on my truck, the interest is 3.9% with low monthly payments. I can easily afford to pay it off, but is it really worth it? What are the negative aspects of paying it off this early? This will not affect my credit because the vehicle is not under my name.

I went to the hospital last year for dehydration and had no health insurance, so of course I have to pay. Well I have no job and no health insurance. I've told the bill collector that I want to make payments, but can't pay but maybe $20 a month. They said the least they would take was $50, but then even after that, I'd have to start paying $100 a month. I've thought about just sending them 10 or 20 dollars, but I'm afraid they won't take it and will sue. What do I do? The bill isn't but 1300 and I want to pay it, I just can't pay in full. My husband and I are trying to just get by as it is.
