A bill was sent with a total amount due, a check was returned to them with a note in the memo "paid in full", the check was for the entire amount, now they state that the billing was in error and are asking for more money, however they cashed the check with no dispute of the amount at the time of cashing. 30 days later they sent an additional bill for the same time period of service.

I got into some financial problems. I started working with a collection agency/law firm that was handling my one credit card accounts. I was honest with them and worked with them freely. I agreed to payments in 6 month increments. So I agreed to large payments for the first 6 months and then had to agree to lower payments for the next 6 months due to loss of work and so on. Anyways, after having begun this process and having these payments withdrawn every month automatically, it appears that they started the process of a Summons and Complaint a few months after I started the repayment process. I have all the documentation showing my payments being withdrawn and the credit card balancing going down. So my question is this, how can they now sue me and serve me with this Summons & Complaint when I HAVE been making the monthly payments through their freaking office? I was told to send all copies of payments to the courts and a letter too and this will be dismissed. What do you think?

I am trying to buy a second home, but according to my credit report I still owe my college loan company. I finished paying them over a year ago. I even called them and they say the debt has been paid but according to my report it is in default. The loan never went into default the entire time I had the loan. The loan company has so many departments they can't tell who is doing what. This is holding up closing on a second home for it really drops my credit score. What should I do and how long should this process take?

Okay soo I opened a Captial One account that I got in the Mail for 0% APR on Purchases and Transfers until December 2007. Now the thing is that when I called up Captial One to find out about my Credit Application they said you've been approved but for only a Credit line of $2000. I am in the Market to buy an engagement ring for my Girl friend and was hoping to get a higer Credit Line sine I have excellent Credit, no late payments and the only debt I have is my Student Loan.

Now the thing is that when we went to another jewerly place (not the one where I'm buying the ring from ) they ran my credit and opened an account with a $15,000 credit line. As soon as I got the card in the Mail I called and closed the account. But I opened the Captial One account on the next day so I think they might have seen that and set my limit soo low.

How would I get Capital One to give me a higher Credit line since I have such great credit? How long would I have to wait to do that?
Thank You

Hello. I need some real advice. I just graduated from school about a year ago and like a lot students, I maxed out my card about a year ago. I had problems finding a job for about 3 months so I couldn't pay the monthly minimum. My card from Bank of America was maxed at $5,500. Anyhow, about 4 months later I try to make a payment to find out that my account was frozen and they had sent the account to a collectors agency. By this time the balance rose to about 6,500. So I closed the account because BOA wouldn't let me make a monthly payment. The wanted the full $6,500! I didn't know what to do. So here I am now with creditors harassing me telling me that I owe them $10,000+ !!!! How can they keep charging me interest if the account was closed, I cant use the credit card, and won't even let me make a monthly payment!!??? The creditors told me they can cut it down to $6,500 if I pay in full! I can't do that right now. I' am really trying to get this problem resolved. Help!

When you buy tickets for a concert using a credit card and it tells you that you must present the card with your tickets at the door, do you have to be the cardholder? My mom bought the tickets with her card, so I will bring hers, but do you think they'll ask if I'm the cardholder?
