I owe money to the IRS, if I file what are the chances that they'll see how much I owe ( under 1000.00), and what are the chances they'll take it out of my return.

Maybe you really don't owe! You're not required to file if you're under a certain amount. And there are so many credits available. If I were you I'd go file my taxes. If you have a refund coming they'll offset it with what is owed. At least go start getting it paid down. That's less crap to worry about in the future!

If your refund is 2500 and you owe 1000, you will receive 1500. Absolutely without a doubt. Been there. But KEEP YOUR RECORDS!!!!!!!!! Screw the 7 years rule. Keep those records until your great, great, great children are great, great, great grandparents.
