My fiance' has no credit. Everytime he applies for credit (JCpenny, Sears, Mastercard, Visa) they always say the same thing. Either "No credit score (fico score) on file" or "Insifficeint credit history". He has never had a credit card or anything in his name, so why can't he get anything? How does he start to build his credit?

I recently got a letter from my bank saying I owed them $199 from "late payments" on my mortgage. (you know how your mortgage is due and if you pay it late they tack on a charge) Well, everytime my husband went to pay our mortgage even if it was late, the bank teller never tacked on the charge. Anyways, they are saying their going to take us to collections for the amount due, does this mean their going to try and take our house? We have never missed a month on our mortgage, just a few times they didnt tack on the late charge...can anyone answer?

I just bought a 2007 dodge caliber, and I thought I could comfortably afford it all. Well I just found out I'm pregnant, and I'm not going to be able to "comfortably" own this car. I just bought the car earlier today (saturday) the dealership is closed tomorrow, so on Monday (if I can get out of work) do you think I will be able to get out of this contract. I havent made my down payment yet because I was going to check my bank to see if I could finance through them instead. So where in my contract would it say that I have three days to return it? Of course the dealership is not going to be willing to point it out, so I need help on that. Plua, if I do try to keep the car, if I finance through my bank, I dont think the dealership will give me the full amount on my trade in, leaving me in the ditch on my other loan. I want to return the car, and forget all about this until my husband can be here. So is there any way possible to return this car with no hassle? Thank you for any help.

My bank sends me quarterly bank reports. I don't really have anything of note on them as I pay my credit cards off in full on time.

I know there are suggestions as to how long to keep credit bills, bank statements, receipts, tax returns, etc. What is it for credit reports from Equifax, etc?

Is there are way that I would be able to negotiate the removal of a collection from my credit report?? Maybe if I tell the collection agency I will pay if they remove it from my report? Or would it be easier to pay and then write the credit bureaus and say that the information is incorrect because I have paid?? I have the money to pay off the collection agency but I want to make sure that my credit will start to get repaired, so I dont know if I should only pay under the terms that it is removed or what....ALSO...

If my account for a credit card has been charged off and sent to a collection agency is there anyway to have it removed where it says: Account charged off/past due 150 days if I pay it? Can I still negotiate with the actual credit card company or is it too late since it has been sent to collection?

I am trying to get my credit fixed on my own. I am now able to pay most of my debt, and want to have GOOD CREDIT instead of just paying off my debts. Thanks!

Overdue car payments (3) & lender requires I pay by 31st of the month or the loan will be in default and the total amount will be due. I have the money to pay it in full but on the FIRST of the month when my check comes in. They insisted it had to be in by the 31st. Is this right?

They just upgraded my laundry room. Now we can only use a smart card to operate the machines. We have to use a VTM to add value to the card, no cash, credit/debit card transactions only. How safe is my credit card information? I don't want to be a victim of identity theft because of a couple loads of laundry. Any help on t his is appreciated.

Heres the deal, I am never late with my payments, however with this card I never got a statement and it slipped my mind. Now I am getting charged an outragerous interest rate, whats my best way to explain to them that if I got the statement I would have paid it. Also do people have luck get the interest rate increase reserved or at least lowered if they were only a couple days late and always pay bills on time?

I can understand why credit card companies do this. They check my report periodically to see if I'm eligible for credit line increases, and also may raise interest rates if negative information appears. The auto loan is a fixed interest rate. I am current on my auto loan. Why would they care if I am current with my other creditors?
