I just bought a 2007 dodge caliber, and I thought I could comfortably afford it all. Well I just found out I'm pregnant, and I'm not going to be able to "comfortably" own this car. I just bought the car earlier today (saturday) the dealership is closed tomorrow, so on Monday (if I can get out of work) do you think I will be able to get out of this contract. I havent made my down payment yet because I was going to check my bank to see if I could finance through them instead. So where in my contract would it say that I have three days to return it? Of course the dealership is not going to be willing to point it out, so I need help on that. Plua, if I do try to keep the car, if I finance through my bank, I dont think the dealership will give me the full amount on my trade in, leaving me in the ditch on my other loan. I want to return the car, and forget all about this until my husband can be here. So is there any way possible to return this car with no hassle? Thank you for any help.

You need to check your state laws. There are a few states that have cooling off and buyer's remorse statutes for vehicle purchases.
As far as I know, most contracts don't have a 3 day return period. If you haven't made the down payment yet, do you actually have a sales contract for the vehicle? When I bought my last car, they tried to get me to take it home overnight to "check it out" and return the next day when the finance department was open to sign the paperwork.

This is how it works. Its not according to state law or anything like that. Check your contract, its the really long form that looks like the signatures and initials were from carbon paper.. Look for a section that says cooling off period. If they offer a cooling off period which means if you change your mind in a certain period of time then you can take it back. Read it very carfully, on some contracts theres a small section that states, by initialing your acknologing that the cooling off perriod void. Unfortunately no one can truely answer this question but you since you have the contract in your possession. Read it very carefully and see what it says.
Good luck and congradulations on the baby :>)......

It shouldn't be a problem. Take it back Monday, tell them you changed your mind and why and it shouldn't be a big deal. It sounds like you've gotten yourself really upset and worried over this. Don't be. Just take care of the car between now and Monday. If anything happens to it or you put a bunch of miles on it, they will want compensation. If you return it to them like you got it from them, though (with a few extra miles), they have to take it back.

In usa, we've the 72 hour recention regulation, that's truthfully referred to as the "lemon regulation". in case you purchase a motor vehicle and it does not finally end up the variety you ordered (or offered) it, you are able to return the motor vehicle to have the settlement "recended" or null. Now, i do no longer understand if it extremely is optimal to new vehicles, even though it extremely is properly worth looking into.

You have 3 days to return the vehicle. But let me warn you the dealership will try everything they can to convince you to keep it, they may even stoop so low as to lie.

You own a new car. Your car is now used as soon as you drove off the lot. Welcome to hassle city. I like the independent little lady that now sobs that she needs her husband to be here. Welcome to equality.
