My family and I are being faced with the harsh reality of a foreclosure, and we just need to know if just handing it back to them (the bank) would be better in the long run.

Hello, I am looking for some advice on my current financial situation. I am 27 years old and I make $125K a year. I just barely paid off all of the personal debt that I was in, (auto, CC, student loans, etc). I got engaged to my girlfriend a couple of weeks ago. She unfortunately lost her job shortly after we got engaged. She has personal debt that totals $85k with no rate being higher than 6%. She was making $30K a year and paying off her bills and helping to chip in on our living expenses. Unfotunately my line of work prevents her from finding a new job very easily. I move every 6 months, so it has to be flexible. Our joint living expenses, including her minimum debt payments, total $65k a year.
My question is this: Should we focus our efforts on paying off her outstanding debt balances or should we just pay the minimums and start to contribute money to a savings account for retirement?
I got a large raise in Oct from making $50k to $125k and I was in some serious debt trouble

I had a repossession back in 1999 on a car that I defaulted on. I never heard a thing from the bank, a collection agency or any other soul. Now this debt was charged off and fell off my credit report last year.

Suddenly- about a month back- a collection agency is sending me a letter asking for what is more than what I remember my original loan being for- plus almost 150% in interest that they, themselves, have accrued.

They are threatening garnishment, legal action, and so forth.

The questions are this... Is the interest legal?
After a charge off and the debt has been wiped from my credit can they still collect?
What actions can they take against me, if any?

I am terrified of them either garnishing my wages and taking everything, or just harrassing my employer- what can I do?

I recently applied for Sears credit card, and their APR is driving me crazy. I just sent them a payment for $27.00 (that's what the balance said) then a couple of weeks later they charge me a "finance charge" of $40.00. My account balance didn't even changed. It's like I didn't even pay $27.00. Their ANNUAL PERCENTAGE RATE is 25.40%. They're making a lot of money by scamming us with these over-the-top percentage rate. I wish I never applied for that damn Sears card in the first place. =(

There was a levy placed on my current bank account by a bill collecting agency(credit-card debt) and I am stil owing. My dilienma is that I was laid off from my job and I cannot afford to pay right now. I want to file my taxes and have the funds go directly to my bank account. If I do open a new bank account and e-file, will the creditor be able to find my new account and place a levy on it? I would also like to know how they find it (bank account), and how long it usually takes.

Thanks in advance!

Is there a way to pay my credit card companies what I owe for accounts that have been charged off and sent to collection agencies? Couldnt they then contact the collection agencies to report that I have paid. Even if the collection agency has bought my debt, the credit card company could pay them back and still have gained some money???

I have three credit cards, each having a credit limit around $15,000. One is a no interest til May 2007, my balance on this card is roughly 13,000. My other card has around 10,000. I just finished paying off my third credit. My 3rd card is the longest existing credit card i have. Should I go ahead and close it out, or keep it. Will it affect my credit rating, if I close it. Meaning, will my credit score go up or down? I have a new job with a good salary, I should be able to cut my debt in half this year alone. But, I guess what I really want to know is if closing a credit card with a 15,000 limit have a negative affect on my credit score? Thank you.

I just wanted someone to point me in the right direction. I have fair to bad credit and I just need $2000 to get back in the green. I've tried prosper with no luck, and I don't want any info on cashcall or any other payday loan (even though I know someone is going to send me something like that). I'm not looking for sympathy or an easy way out I just wanna know about any lenders that are willing to give loans to people with bad credit without any money in advance (I'm told that is illegal anyway). If anyone can spare any useful informantion I'd be much obliged.

Does it mean you are ACTUALLY approved or is it just a false hope that you might get approved for whatever you are pre-approved for? I am looking at cars and want to know what 'pre-aaproved' means.

Has any one heard about Advantage loan
(www.advantageloans.uk.com)
They told me that they guarantee me an unsecured loan and they charge 50 pounds for a brokers fee. Can they guarantee such a service? they say that the call is recorded and that they are oblighed to deliver the loan as they offer, for certain.
What do you think?

Thanks
