I am an additional cardholder on two accounts that my ex roommate has flaked on. I can't locate him and I am not the primary on the accounts, but they both show up on my credit reports and it is dinging me now that I need to get a mortgage. I need a quick way to get these off. I called one and had success (Juniper Bank) but Chevron has stuck to their guns and said they would keep reporting me. Are they legally allowed to report "additional cardholders" since it clearly states in terms and agreements that the PRIMARY is responsible for the account??
Thanks.......

I'm trying to increase my credit score as much as I can this year because we are looking to buy a house next year.

On one of my credit cards ($500 limit) I noticed that they started charging $6 a month participation fee. I called and found out that's the fee for them to report to all three credit report bureaus.

This card has a pretty long history on it and I'm worried that cancelling it might affect my score, but at the same time, I'm paying $6 a month. Is it worth cancelling this card to avoid that charge?

If you were single and you purposley during the last couple of months of your life took out multiple credit cards and ran them up and live an extravagent life. Who will pay those cards off if you die. Knowing you are single and debt can't be transfered in that case.

We already took him to small claims court and he admitted that he owed the money. But now he still won't pay. I was hoping that I could put a lien against the motorcycle so that he would have to pay us if he was going to sell the bike.

I am looking to buy a house and would like to shop around for the best interest rate. However, someone told me that every time a potential lender runs your credit score, it affects you credit rating in a negative manner.

Ok, so I got divorced and at that time my ex was owing me a certain sum (that was included in the "division of assets" paper with a deadline and all). Now he's repaid a part of it (cash, hand to hand, he didn't want to make a bank transfer to make it official) and wants me to write him some sort of note which states that I have received this much from him.
Any idea how is such a note called (so that i can look up a sample on the Internet) or... just maybe a link to a possible sample?

Thanks a lot in advance for any suggestions.

My hospital bill was sent to a collection agency about 3 1/2 yrs ago and I have made arrangements with the collection agency on monthly payments in return of not reporting me with the credit bureaus. Of course, they did not live to their promises and reported me anyways even though I've been consistent on my payments. Now I still owe about $2500 and $1500 on interest, I've already paid about $3000 (original debt was $6000). Is it on my best interest to continue paying them even if they've already destroyed my credit? And I keep hearing about 'statute of limitation' does this apply in this case? Will they file a lawsuit against me if I stop paying? (Middle income but no property) And if so, whats the worst case scenario? I didn't mind making payments at first but now they are just being jerks on insisting for me to fully pay this, I cannot afford it right now due to other bills that I'm trying to payoff. Please help. -Uncertain?
