Well first i would call your bank and cancel your card. Then Call the police and tell them where they used it and how much. I would call the company's where they used it at. And if they bought stuff on line there should be shipping addresses?? Find out where they shipped it.. You might be able to solve the crime but make the police do that.. I have had that happened but they broke into my car and stole my cell phone and purse which had my debt card and they drained it and my police wouldn't do anything because it was only a few hundred dollars.. So i hope your police do their jobs! Good Luck i know how you fell!

Call your bank 24 hour line and report it stolen. Then call the police and file a police report. Then go into the bank on Thursday the 1st and show them the police report and dispute the charges.

You are protected by EFTA and if your debit card has either a MasterCard or Visa symbol. You are protected by their zero liability policy.

Some of these other answer are good as well.

All on line retailers settle for credit/debit enjoying cards, and a few additionally settle for PayPal, yet very very few settle for transfers from checking debts. i think of in the final 10 years (and that i've got offered hundreds of things on line by skill of now) i've got paid with a checking account only as quickly as. this is fairly smarter to apply your credit/debit card besides, for the reason which you have greater protections if something is going incorrect; there are regulations that require the issuing banks that could be useful you in case you won't be able to get a reimbursement, etc. yet there are not such a regulations for paying by skill of checking account or PayPal.

You need to get a hold of your banks fraud claims dept and have them set up a claim for you and they'll put the charged monies back temporarily until you send back the affidavit they'll send you to explain what happened then they'll decide whether you get to keep the monies they provisionally put into your acct. You need to call the police Dept. also, to get a police report # to send them also. They'll want the police report #, the phone # of the police Dept. , and the police officers' name. Even if its' been a few months since it happened you can still call and report it to the police. I had this done to me and this is what I had to do..GOOD LUCK. Stay on them too.

Go to your bank and have the card destroyed right there so they know you are not the one making these charges. The bank then can dispute these charges for you but do it today do not wait or they will think you did it. The bank can help.

All bank accounts are insured. By law you are only liable for the first $50 in fraud on your account. Report it as soon as possible to the bank fraud department and the police.
