We had filed chapter 13 last October. The payments were so high we just couldn't make the payments. The bankruptcy courts dismissed our case for non-payments. Are we eligible to file for chapter 7? Will we lose our home? We live in Ohio if that makes any difference at all. What should we expect to happen?

- My co-signer has good credit. A 10+ year record, probably flawless.
- Carries a mortgage.
- No other car or child support or any other recurring debt.

What do you guys think? My mother is afraid to co-sign for me because she is not sure if she will be able to get another car in 2-3 months for the family in case we need it, is this a necessary worry?

I'm doing a homework assignment and trying to research vehicle loan payments. But one of the criteria that the bank uses is what is called a "loan to value" some say 100% others say 90%. What does the 90% on a loan to value mean?

My purchase was @29.99, tendered a $20.00 Reward Certificate good at any Sears or K Mart. They accepted the certificate and refused to take cash for the difference, insisted it must be charged to the Sears credit card. I thought Legal Tender must be accepted always. Am I wrong?

The debt was first assigned to a collection agency, then it went to a law firm August of 2006. They have not contacted me in five months.
