my husband and i have found ourselves with overwhelming credit card debt....i have looked into debt consolidation programs but my husband says that if you do one of these programs it hurts your credit rating...is that true? does it show up on your credit report? and has anyone participated in one? was it worth it? did it help you? are there any risks??? what company did you go with?

Thanks!

How would you get out of debt fast, you don't want to file bankruptcy. What are the other options you would choose.

You have a credit card with a balance of $340.41. Your interest rate is 17.99% and you pay it off after 8 days.

How much interest would you be paying?

I heard it is possible to repair my credit score on my own instead of using companies who charge you for it. Please help me!

I have never had a credit card, mortgage or car loan. I have never filed bankruptcy. I have looked at my credit report and the majority of problems are medical bills. I also have some unpaid utility bills on there. I cannot even get a cell phone without a $300 deposit. Why do these things make my credit score terrible? I though CC's and bankruptcies were the major problems. Can anyone explain?

What is the best card for me to get? I know interest rate is a big deal, but since I plan on paying it off every month it shouldn't make that much of a difference correct?

I wanted to do a backround check on myself just for sh*#s & giggles and stupidly ordered the cheapest site available. It promised access to all public records and a money back guarentee. What the site offered was just a database for a lot of other backgound check sites that you have to pay a lot of money for and absolutely no link to getting my '100% guarenteed money back if not satisfied.' It only cost me 30 bucks, but I don't want to give the jerk(s) the satisfaction of ripping me off.

I have considerable U.S. credit card debt and I am considering using a U.S. company to consolidate the debt. I live in Canada and have my home and all other assets in Canada. Does anyone know if ruining my credit in the U.S. will affect my credit in Canada? Also, can anyone recommend a good U.S. debt consolidation company?
