The below website provides links to companies that offer CC for no credit/bad credit applicants. Been through it myself, and it works. JUST DO NOT MISS A PAYMENT.

Whoa...You're own bank wouldn't give you a card? Do you not have any money at all in savings as collateral?
try the sites some poeple recommend, but the other option (if you can hold on to the money and not spend it) is to apply for a signature line of credit at your bank (ask for about 500-1000) just say you're going to by a new washer and dryer or something. (but don't really) Then, if you get the money, just pay off the loan over a 3-5 month period. Once is cleared--BINGO, you have credit history.

Go into a department store and make a large purchase - say 2 recliners or washer or plasma TV. They will ask you if you want to apply for a store credit card - which you can use immediately - including for THIS purchase. Once you have one card - the rest will follow.

Try First Financial Bank USA. I got their credit card as soon as I turned 18 and paid off the balance every month. This helps establish credit as long as you pay the balance. I would just charge like gas for my car and then pay it all off. They will start you off with a very low limit like $200.00 and it will go up fast as you establish more and more credit.

Try www.aspirecard.com. They give cards to people to help build credit. They report regularly to major credit agencies and you can't beat the payments. I have one and everyone I know has one now.
