I need to clean up my score-here's my awful history;
1 bankruptcy (2001)
1 auto reposession (2000)
3 cc's that have been sent to collection agencies (after bankruptcy) totaling about $1600.00
And some smaller bills (about $500)
After bankruptcy--I was doing fine---my mom began having bad financial difficulties (she lost more than half her monthly retirement income)and I tried to help her, consequently my bills began to go unpaid, she is now back on her feet and now I don't know what to do with my situation. I don't have any other bills besides rent and insurance and daily expenses. I checked my FICO and it is at 550---where do I begin? Do I call the collection agencies or do I call the original card companies. Should I seek advice from the consumer credit counseling? There are so many things in the future that I know I will need credit (son's braces, car , etc)and I'm desperate to fix this!!

ok, i saw this MC commercial in the TV other day and they were promoting that MC where you can just scan your card and pay. No need of signatures. So I'm assuming anyone with a MC can do this this and there is no identification check. So I'm assuming that there are lot of unautorized chrages from MC if thats case. How MC handles this situation. Thanks,

Is there a way you can pull a credit report on yourself, and see if you owe any debts? My husband's old bank called saying he owed them $1,000 for a loan he was given that he forgot about. I know he's terrible with money so I'm wondering if there is a way to find out what other debts are hiding without a shock like this one.

I was late on a credit card payment to Bank of America and went over the credit limit. The next months billing statement charged me 32.2 % interest. I called to see if they would lower it, they said they would charge me 32.2 % for 6 months. I paid off the bill and they asked why? I said because you charged me 32.2 %. Are they morons?

my husband and I are 26 years old, have been married for 4 years now. Own a home, a camper, and a leased truck. We have lots of credit card debt, in the area of about $7,000.00 maybe a bit less. We have a truck lease, our camper payment is 250 a month, plus a home equity loan that is like 460 a month....we did work on the house. Needless to say, we fork out MORE than what comes in. we have awful credit now, because we cant keep up with the bills, creditors call, cancellation notices come in, we are gagging....We are young, and in the past few years spent stupidly, we are not ashamed to admit that. we have learned our lesson for sure, and DO NOT do it any more...problem is we are going to suffer for YEARS because of this. We are now expecting our first child. We NEED to consolidate EVERYTHING or somehow get out of our mess..Bankruptcy is NOT an option, we spent this money we will pay it back. Please just tell us the BEST consolidation companies, with good rates, that wont scam us.
