You need to be 18 to get your own credit card. At 13, you could potentially open a bank account and get a debit card that links to that account, which functions a lot like a credit card.

Since you are not of legal age, you can not sign a contract, which is what a credit card is. You contract, or promise, to repay the debt incurred. Since any contract signed by a minor is unenforceable, you can not get a credit card.
You can however get a debit card. If you open a bank account, you will need it to be a joint account with your parents, the account can give you an ATM card that is linked to Visa or Mastercard. You will be able to "charge" up to the funds available in the account.

I know for a fact they will give them to you, but it would be a really DUMB idea to get one. Getting a credit card at any age is really dumb, but as a young teen is just idiotic.

If you need a credit card for ebay, ask your parents to open you up a checking account, where you have a debit card. That way what you are spending is real money, not borrowed money, and you won't have to deal with the consequenses of having debt at such a young age.

Not sure about 13, but I sent application I received addressed to my dog back and received a card in his name three weeks later. Never had the guts to activate it and never used it (this was about 8 years ago). His name was Bong!

u can get a debit card. i got a debit card when i was 13. so u can get a debit card. my sis got one when she was 10. credit cards are a totally different story. because with debit cards the money is already added on there and its likes a gift card.
